The last forum I seriously frequented, someone said the same thing. He was so bothered by it that he went and started his own forum for "the best people, the cool people" from the original forum.

I've seen people start new orums, thinking that only the best people will flock to it, and that they'll keep the bad ones out. It ends up being like that club they opened down the street. They put out a velvet rope and security guard...and nobody wanted to get in there anyway. They closed in two months.

I'm not in any hurry to die, mind you. But as Susan Ertz said, "Millions long for immortality who don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon." I'm stunned howmany people post on Facebook "OMG, I'm so boreddddd." They apparently can't find anything of interest even with the entire internet at their disposal.

You ever have some small, rather insignificant task to get done...and you never get it done? Because you have no impetus to really do it. No time limit, no major repercussions or not getting it done. Having a finite lifespan is what gives us the impetus to get off our ass and do what we want. If you had ten thousand years to live, why bother getting up today? Or tomorrow? Or this month?
