I made the fatal mistake last night and accidentally downloaded Mozilla Firefox. I HATE IT!!! :grrr:

About a year or so ago, I came across a website where you could get older versions of Firefox, for those that were not happy with upgraded version of the Firefox of the week. I thought I had bookmarked that website, yet now I can’t find it. Can someone provide the link to a website (if you know of one), so I can downgrade my Firefox to an older version. Thank you. ..|

Why would you want an older version full of security issues?

Wilson,

You're very welcome. Glad to point you in the right direction.

I will +1 on Paws question though... The newest version of Firefox (8.0) can be made to behave very much like it's previous versions, and is a more secure release.

Cheers,

B

Well Paws, "some" of us old timers feel that newer is not always better. I may be pressing my luck here, but since I have been using a personal computer since 1992, I have never had any major viruses or any security issues (other than the fact that I like Google and they are tracking my every move). LOL!!!

Yet my computer is pretty up to date as far as virus protection and firewall protection goes. However in the case of this new version of FF, I absolutely HATE IT. :grrr:The layout of it on my computer STINKS and looks UGLY! I find it not easy on my eyes. Plus they have changed some of the looks of the buttons and tabs, which I find ugly looking. :grrr: Plus they took away my second "refresh" button. So now I have to sit dead in the water anytime I am waiting for a page to download or to navigate to another site . . . whereas I think the current "refresh" button does nothing at all . . . whereas the second "refresh" button I had, it seemed to make a HUGE difference whenever it looked like my computer froze and or took so long to download or navigate to another site. With my old FF, 80% of the time, whenever my computer looked like it froze, that 2nd "refresh" button was like a kick in the ass for my computer or modem . . . and I could then see that it was working again (about 80% of the time when I used the "refresh" button). So that second "refresh" button seemed to keep the activity moving for all of my internet surfing, at least 80% of the time.

What do you mean by "second refresh" button? On the latest version of Firefox, you can customize the toolbar so that you can have a refresh button alone by itself like a "back" or "home" button.

If you're interested in bringing the refresh button out of the address bar, just right-click some blank place along the toolbars and choose "Customize." From there you can click and drag out the refresh (and stop) buttons to individual buttons.

Woo! Hoo! I got my old FF back. :gogirl:

Lehans, since I am not very computer literate, I am very limited what I can do. Upon reading your post, I tried what you suggested, but I did not see any option to add a refresh button. :(

Keeland, I am using a Dell computer with Windows XP, so I couldn’t use your posting for help, since I have many different options on my drop-down menu vs. yours (that you have on your MAC).

Well at least I am back where I want to be, thanks to Burke67.

Thanks so much for trying to help me, Guys. ..|
