how much time do you have?

Hong Kong is someplace I'd love to do, but it's such a long (and expensive) flight out there that it's hard to justify unless you've got the time to spend a few weeks out there.

NYC and London are both great. tons to do and see in both places... personally, though, I'm thinking my next big trip will be out to Ireland. flights from NY are surprisingly cheap, last time I checked (about $4-500 round trip, compared to double that to fly to continental Europe)

Barcelona.

Beaches, football (the Nou Camp tour and museum experience is incredible), architecture, and amazing food and people. ..|

And... you could meet Belamo while you were there. ;)

Are you looking for gay action? Art? History? Food? Drink?
I spent two weeks in London in August and a week in Oxford. 3 weeks each in 2010 and 2011 in Italy. Everyone who goes to Italy seems to like it a lot. Lots to see, friendly people, great food and wine. Florence for the art and you can walk to see everything. Loved them all, but it depends on what you want and how long. Ireland some years ago, but there is less to do and see.

I think it depends on a "when" factor. Some places are much better at certain times of the year. Boston, outside of the 4th, is not a fun place to be in the Summer. Sure, the weather is nice but everyone goes to the Cape. I've done NYC for the Thanksgiving Parade but not the ball drop yet. Done London New Years which was a fun time.

Aruba.. its one happy island..lots of casinos there too.

Have you been to Japan?

Worth every second you spend there. The culture is diverse and wonderful, from feudal Japan to the downright bizarre youth cultures.

The history, sights, temples and architecture are all stunning.

And the food is delicious, even when I had no idea what I was going to get I enjoyed it.

Also it's a quite friendly country to navigate even if you don't speak the language, the train system is extensive and sometimes fun to get around.

There's something for all tastes there and with the bullet trains getting across the country is a cinch.

I reccommend Japan specifically because it's the closest analogue I've had to a place on your list (Hong Kong)

I find it really hard to have a bad time when I'm on holiday. I have yet to come across a place where I think "Shit I'm glad I'm never going back there."

So, I love Hong Kong, London, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Stockholm, Dublin...unforgettable memories. But it would maybe make a difference to know what you want out of a vacation, because they all have their different characters.

I've been to a few countries and my favourite city on earth is london. Go there. It's beautiful and very gay friendly.

I actually wanted to go to Hong Kong until recently when I found out I'll be unemployed in a few months :(

My bestest favourite is Florence for being so darn beautiful.
Want a vineyard and one of those hillside villas, pretty please.

Depends.

Do you have a specific budget? Time frame?

I agree with people saying London ---- It's just a must see place for everyone. Plus it's in Europe and it gives you easy access to travel to other countries in the EU. Berlin, Stockholm, and Athens are all must sees too.
