You lucky dog. Frank I'm happy for you. Do either of you know Spanish well enough to get by? Do many Argentinians speak English? Thanks for sharing.

English isn't common here, and even less so now that we're in Montevideo, Uruguay. Definitely a more low-key place than Buenos Aires, and even Saturday nights are subdued. We're taking a side trip deep into the interior [Rivera] in a couple days, and don't expect to find any English at all. I hope much for a clear sky at least one night, so that the southern sky can be seen, and I hope the Moon doesn't cheat it. (I didn't notice its current phase.)

My Spanish is close to fifty years old with no practice, Daniel doesn't have much Spanish at all. We have been able to get along adequately, in what we want or need.

Who would expect to see somebody playing bagpipes in the middle of rush hour downtown in a city of 10 million people? Buenos Aires.

Montevideo actually has a small plaza dedicated to sexual diversity (officially)! One of the few places in the world? (This is next to some remnants of an old jail.)

In the Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires. We never figured out what this place sells or does.
