I typically compare them to my breakfast cereal, but your blizzard shall suffice.
Unfortunately, the only kind of flake I've been tasting lately is the type you put in your bowl and pour milk over. And not to satisfy a milk fetish.

I met my partner on a4a we've been together for over a year and I met great friends there too. So a4a is the best bet in my opinion.
It seems the men on Adam4Adam can be grouped into two distinct camps: one that just want sex and want it now and the other that are geuinely looking for long-term relationships.
Excuse me -- I feel like I'm coming in from another planet. But I'm curious about when exactly "hookups" became a thing to avoid at all costs. In my more active days I was all about hookups and spent considerable time and energy trying to find them.
Don't you guys ever get horny while you're waiting for Mr. Right to show up, get down on one knee and ask you to marry him?
Just wondering...
I don't mind hookups if both parties know what they're getting into ahead of time. it's not really where I'm at right now in my life, but I've done it before and would do it with the right guy.
what I mind are the seemingly endless stream of guys that I meet who are like "I'm not really looking for a hookup, I want something real, etc, etc" and then drop off the face of the planet after getting you into bed. if they were up front about it, I'd probably have hooked up with most of them anyways, but it would have saved me that "is he blowing me off or isn't he" week where I have to magically divine where his head is at and obsess about what I might have done wrong.
Expecting every guy to fall into one of two categories is problematic.
Fair enough, but just to put another two cents in -- that in my experience an awful lot of LTR's, if not most of them, start as a hookup. The idea is, you make contact with the guy, then you meet, then if you're attracted to each other you maybe end up having the sex. Then if you both enjoyed it, why not do it again? Next stop LTR...I've never had a problem with hookups (especially between more substantial relationships). A guy has his needs and shouldn't feel ashamed or apologetic about fulfilling them.
I found from first hand experience that even on the sites that cater to men supposedly in search of long term relationships, many of those same men settled for hookups -- or were truly looking for LTRs less than they were looking for hookups.

Of course inevitably a certain percentage of the guys you come across on these sites are assholes, but usually you can figure that out pretty quick. Theoretically...
I completely agree with you SonOfSoblone.
However for those who want to go ahead and seek out an LTR immediantly. Well that's why sites like Cupid.com are in business.
For hooking up (As in fucking, sucking, dating, or fuck buddies)
Manhunt
Craigslist (LOL)
Squirt
Adam4Adam
And there was some nude something things. Forgot the name. Maybe nudedude.
For looking for friendship, relationships, and hook ups I suggest these.
recon.com
silverdaddies.com
findfred.com
I'm sorry but those cupid sites are so fucking spamish. I think I did it once and it took tons of verifications and emails back and forth for me to actually talk to the guy. It was retarded. It's very limited if you aren't paying.
Some of the sites I listed limit you a little if you aren't a paying member. Except Adam4Adam. If it's not too bad. For example, you can browse profiles on manhunt but can't view full pictures if you aren't paid. Same for Recon and Squirt. Those sites limit how many profiles you can view a day and messages unless you pay. Even so being a free member doesn't limit you as much as something like Cupic or Outpersonals does. Outpersonals is one to stay away from.
Have you heard of gaypersonals, kinkpersonals, and anything else that has personals at the end? They are all the same and very limited if you don't pay and not worth paying.
Silverdaddies doesn't limit how many profiles you can look at but you can only send two messages a day and can't view someone's photo gallery. Only their main photo. That one actually is worth paying though. So is Recon. If manhunt works for you (as in guys in you're area) that is worth paying as well.
Gay.com used to be really good and even had a cool chat and a 3rd party chat applications to do multiple things but they changed it drastically and the chatrooms and profiles are not as good as they used to be and the whole UI for the site is kind of laggy and weird.
I've barely used FindFred. But I do like them because they give kick ass CD's at pride. Not that I'm biased or anything. I haven't really used them to give them a fair review. Oh it was dudesnude. That's what it was I just remembered it.
As for Smartphone apps Grindr isn't too bad BUT IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE GUYS IN YOU'RE AREA. It really does.
I don't really use dating/hook up sites anymore because I'm not really looking for sex or a relationship. But I used to go on dating/hook up sites all the time so I'm familar with the ones I know. But occasionally I get horny. We all do
Also something I haven't really looked into but find interesting. On some porn sites they have member pages where you can view the the models or amateurs and actually send them messages and some of them are actually looking to hook up. I'm sort of surprised how many are around the area I'm in. I don't know if that's something I'll ever do but the concept sounds cool. Of course that's probably something most people already knew. I'm in the whole dark ages with the porn star world.

Thanks for all the info. Yeah, most dating and hookup sites are great at taking up your time but spotty on delivering results. Also, it tends to be much easier to find people when you're new to a site. After you've been using a given site for a few weeks, you're likely to find fewer and fewer "matches." Anyway, I'll try some of the ones you mentioned.
