Being a Britney fan has made me an expert in telling when someone is lipping or not

Two things I noticed:

1) She doesn't change the distance of the microphone as much as she does when she's singing live, since there is no need for it.

2) She failed the lipping at one point, having her mouth closed when she was suppose to be singing.

The fact is she uses pre-recorded tracks much more often than in the early years of her career. Her voice is far from being as stable or strong as it was in the 90's, a fact which should be obvious to everybody.

I thought this thread was about vocals not popularity. Why bring up sales? If sales are a proof of having strong vocals then Britney Spears must have one of the strongest vocals in the business, which she does not.

Depends on the note she is trying to hit. You can't say that keeping your mic close to your mouth = lip synching. Just head on over to the reality singing competitions, nearly everyone has the mic right up to their lips even when they hit the big notes. Pulling the mic away from the mouth is a technique pros usually use so that the loudest parts of their song don't come off as shouting. But it isn't necessary while singing live.

Also the second link of Fly Like A Bird was at the Grammys, which (at that time) didn't allow lip synching. Actually I don't think lip synching is allowed at the Grammys still.

All that demonstrates is that a) Buble has far more experience with a mike and b) Stacey hasn't got as strong a voice as him

The lineup for President Obama’s second inauguration is coming together, with the inaugural committee announcing Wednesday that Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor will perform.

Beyonce, who with husband Jay-Z aided Obama’s reelection effort, will sing the national anthem during the Jan. 21 ceremony. The popular singer, who will also be headlining the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show, took part in Obama’s first inauguration, singing the Etta James classic “At Last” to open the first Inaugural Ball.

Clarkson will follow in the footsteps of Aretha Franklin, singing “My Country, 'Tis of Thee,” while James Taylor will take up “America the Beautiful.”

“Their music is often at the heart of the American story and speaks to folks across the country,” Obama, who aided in the selection process, said in a statement.

The menu for the post-inaugural lunch was unveiled Wednesday as well, featuring grilled bison, lobster, New England chowder, along with wines from New York, the home state of congressional inauguration chairman Sen. Charles E. Schumer.

Myrlie Evers-Williams, chair of the NAACP from 1995 to 1998, is set to deliver the invocation, and the Rev. Louie Giglio, an Atlanta pastor and founder of Passion Conferences, will give the benediction. At 44, Richard Blanco will become the first Latino, gay and youngest inaugural poet.
