You guys forgot Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike! I know it was just the Pilot, but I thought he was hot....
Very hot. Yes.

Janeway was fine, the whole Voyager pointlessness wasn't.Seven mostly boring, wasted years(saved only by Jeri Ryan's magnificent 7 of 9 portrayal, and Robert Picardo's great Doc character))Archer was in a more interesting situation in Enterprise, but was still kinda hot and cold for me.After my top pick of Sisko,it definitely would go Picard and Kirk second and third.

Other part was that there were just little things about Picard that were annoying. Like, why was his name Jean-Luc Picard but he spoke with a UK accent (don't try to provide an explanation -- it's an irrational prejudice on my part)?

Interesting. A lot of the Goa'uld spoke with a UK accent as well. Maybe they were born in France, too.

Captain Janeway will always be my favourite ST Captain

I agree. She was more diplomatic and flawed than the other captains.

Besides she brought "chaos to order" amongst the Borg. Even Picard only engaged the Borg a few times. Janeway survived years of encounters with the Borg.

LOL@ the "which season is voyager based on janeway's hairdo" it's funny b/c it's true. There's that episode where voyager fractures in time on different decks and she's running around with different hair styles.

7 of 9 tertiary adjunct of unimatrix 01 is the reason that I watch Star Trek. A few months ago I bought the Star Trek: Borg DVD. It has a TON of episodes from TNG, Voyager, and the one from Enterprise.

If I were ever to get Voyager on DVD it'd only be seasons 4-7 (Jeri Ryan joined in "Scorpion Part II" not "Part I" as credited on some dvd packs.

I have Star Trek: Borg DVD! :D

I love it. ..|

I'm watching "Unimatrix Zero" right now.

"captain"
"how are things in the collective?"
"perfect...for the most part..Voyager?"
"never better"

I think what I loved is that Voyager was a good balance of men & women. You had a female captaina and the ultimate female villian (the Borg Queen), but the men had their moments as well.

I think in other start trek series women aren't treated so fairly.

She was allowed to wear that dress outfit. How unfair. [-X

OMG, the Troy character was ridiculous. A counselor. Right next to the captain at all times. WTF. And her fashion sense was equally retarded. That turquois dress was fugly to say the least. She was allowed to wear whatever she wanted and the few outfits she had were all crappy. For the other outfits, if she wanted to wear something skin-tight, why not just wear the damned uniform like Crusher did?

Beverly Crusher had a few good episodes, but for the most part women were treated as weak.

Another thing I loved about Voyager was how they adapted. They enhanced their technology and made changes to the science of star trek. The Delta Flyer was probably the best example. As is the Astrometrics lab.

Since they were away from Starfleet there wasn't any beauracracy or having to get permission from Starfleet. They were one ship on their own.

I think unlike TNG they were real explorers. Voyager reminds me of old maritime ships from the beginnings of sea exploration. Where as other series are more like ships hanging around harbours.

This subject has probably been discussed here before, but

Anybody else think Kira Nerys was a lesbian?

KiraNerys001.jpg

Why? Cuz she's a strong, independent woman? She was a soldier all her life. She's just a little butch cuz she didn't have any girlie stuff to grow up with. In the opposite universe she was a lesbian.

Well, in the US military, for what it's worth, at least until recently, the proportion of lesbians was greater than in the general population. So.

I'm just comparing her personality to those of the other women characters, most of whom were also strong and independent.

You mean like Ezri? Yeah, Kyra's personality was very different than Jadzia's. Maybe it is a Bajoran thing. Kai Wyn was a fucking cunt and Kai Opaka was pretty stern. But then again, Rom's wife Leeta was very girlie. Maybe she was just a dabo girl her whole life. Kyra did have a relationship with that hottie Vedic Bareil before she hooked up with Odo.

Yay I voted for Picard ages ago and he's still in the lead - go go Jean Luc - Tea...Earl Grey...hot! Make it so!

My fav. is when Janeway said:

"coffee. black."
"make it yourself"

from when Q gave the computer a personality

I have a very hard time picking a favorite captain. I really think I would need to go back and watch many episodes of all, especially the original. I caught an episode of that by accident the other day (the intelligent rock creatures take Kirk and Spock down. It's the "Help me, Spock!" episode). I think the original was remarkable TV and the others never really surpassed it in many ways. I also think that the original is better than most all of the movies.

I think Deanna Troi's character was pretty inconsistent in her continuity/origins. Once Majel Barrett butted in as her Mom, the logical consistency of Betazoid abilities was destroyed.

I think Janeway had my favorite line, though. It was in a "year of hell" episode where in one timeline there was a fairly intact voyager, and in another, there was a really fucked up voyager. At the end of the episode, the really fouled up voyager (with a Harry and a baby from the more intact voyagger) survives, and the intact one blows up. They get captured by the aliens with tobacco leaves on their heads for hair. Capt. Janeway has set the auto-destruct. The aliens come on the bridge.

She turns calmly in her chair to them. "I'm Captain Janeway. Welcome to the bridge."

Then the computer counts down the last seconds of the auto-destruct, and the ship blows up.

Doesn't get much badder than that.

...Flox was my favorite Doctor.

Jean-Luc

I'd still totally make it so for him ;)

Deanna started to wear the uniform (like Beverley's) towards the end of the show's run. I can vaguely remember that there was a visiting captain who took over the Enterprise for a brief time and he preferred her to wear the proper uniform so she had no choice.

:rotflmao: Yep.

The same reason 7 of 9 wears those skin tights outfits. Sex appeal. ;)

I say it isn't fair. What about the guys? ;)

Wesley had that tight grey suit :p Bashir's greys were kinda tight. The first uniforms in TNG were full spandex. The "baby face" Riker was so hot. I think they had to switch to the more baggy uniforms to hide the guys' bellies. I think only the Enterprize boys had something to show off. Archer always gave me at least a semi.
