Deanna started to wear the uniform (like Beverley's) towards the end of the show's run. I can vaguely remember that there was a visiting captain who took over the Enterprise for a brief time and he preferred her to wear the proper uniform so she had no choice.

Yeah, Captain Jellico. I don't think anyone would mourn his passing. Troy looked so much better with the uniform and her hair up.

I have to go with the Original, Captain Kirk....

He may come off as kinda campy looking back, but to be fair...each of the captains have brought something new to the Star Trek universe ..|

Since psychology is classified as a medical science her uniform was the blue-ish green. Wasn't there an episode where she was studying for a commander level exam? I think she was almost alone on the bridge and had to be in charge.

She was a great character and I love that Majel Barret was her mother (and the computer voice)

Yes there was and I think that she passed and yes she was almost alone on the bridge one episode. She held her own on the bridge.

Majel was also married to Gene Roddenberry.

My biggest problem with Kirk was the fact that he supposedly helped to write the Prime Directive, and was always insisting that others followed it, yet he was always the first to break it time and time again.

Watching the show in reruns now, it's rather humourous to see Kirk get so upset whenever some alien race tries to manipulate his ideals or his lifestyle.

It was supposed to be 'The United Federation of Planets', but I always thought of it as 'The United Federation of James Tiberius Kirk'.

At least when Picard came around, he upheld the Prime Directive even when it put members of his crew in danger of their lives and broke it only when there was no other option. Even then, he always took the route which was the least damaging to the culture which had inadvertently discovered them.

Wesley had that tight grey suit :p Bashir's greys were kinda tight. The first uniforms in TNG were full spandex. The "baby face" Riker was so hot. I think they had to switch to the more baggy uniforms to hide the guys' bellies. I think only the Enterprize boys had something to show off. Archer always gave me at least a semi.

Yeah, Jonathan Frakes kind of beefed up between seasons one and two, didn't he?

I remember that one. All she had to do was order a crewman to sacrifice himself to save the ship from a core breach. The needs of the many...

You can get command clearance regardless of what branch you're in (red=command/navigation, yellow=security/engineering/ops, blue=science/medical). Spock was second in command. Data was third in command. In the first season, Geordi, who was then a junior grade ensign pilot took command of the ship over the higher ranked cheif engineer. Crusher had the graveyard shift near the end of the series and commanded a skeleton crew against Lore's Borg. Harry Kim also took graveyard on Voyager. Jadzia Dax regularly captained the Defiant.

You know, I saw the first half of that two-parter, and never saw the second. Did Jellico actually die in that second half?

I can remember the TNG ones.

I saw Kirk as a lady's man, who was a lose canon. He did what suited him.

Oh, did you know his middle initial used to be 'R'? (Second pilot episode, Where No Man has Gone Before, on his tombstone.)

Oh yeah *|*

Enterprise used the men. ;)

Having Tucker run around through the ship in his undies.

Seeing Archer in the shower.

:dead:
i jacked off to the whole episode where Tucker was stuck in his underwear the entire time. i had never been so horny over a show in my life

and Katherin Janeway was so totally badass.

No, he didn't. After he finished his mission, he became human again and went back to rescue Picard.

I never saw this thread before. Thanks for reviving it!

I am a big Star Trek fan. I love TNG and VOY most of all, but I've seen all episodes, except for TOS. Pikard's my favorite, followed closely by Janeway, and Sisco.

I can't wait for the next movie to come out. I know it will be quite a departure from the series and movies done so far, but I am hoping it will spark more interest.

As ho-hum as Enterprise was, I still enjoyed it from time to time, and though I wasn't surprised when it was canceled, I was still disappointed. There just wasn't enough interest, I guess.

No. Picard was captured and tortured by a Cardassian. When they found out, Jellico denied Picard was sent on a mission to prevent admitting an act of war. Riker protested so much that Jellico relieved him of duty. When they figured out where Picard was being held, they devised a plan to get him back and deal with the mounting Cardassian threat. The plan involved dropping mines close to the Cardassian ships almost blindly because of radiation interfering with the sensors, and Riker was the best pilot on the ship, so Jellico had to swallow his pride and ask him to do it. After Picard retook command, Jellico muttered that it was nice serving with everyone and quickly left the bridge.
