Did they do when they put a black guy (originally more the errand boy, the funny dumber one... the Sancho Panza of the duo); or the blond chick, "the girl" in every movie... Does anybody ever complain whenever she wears a tight shirt (over a younger body, of course), while he is the supposedly "experienced, interesting", sagging one wearing the dark man burqa?
Or when they started pushing in the "Latin" too?
About implausibleness not affecting a he-man character status, but the same plot and acts being considered totally silly when it's a she-woman instead?

I've also encountered the apparent-at-first-glance "opposite" as well, when somebody decades ago was talking to me about music, and he called Jimi Hendrix a n***** because he *DARED* to do ROCK music. I mean, Hendrix was supposed to stick to soul or funk. Of course. (And it he actually HAD built his career that way, music to this day would be poorer for it, because we all would have been deprived of the exceptional vocal and guitar styles that he perfected!)

At first glance it's two apparent opposites (a black person emceeing country music awards, versus my friend thinking Hendrix was STEALING his wypipo music), but really it's the two indistinguishable sides of a coin that happens to have two tails.

He died in 2005 from emphysema. The last time I saw him in Memphis in 2004, he was confined to his couch, using oxygen, and he would occasionally get out from it so he could smoke yet another cigarette. The same sorry scenario cloned itself a dozen years later in Indiana with somebody else I knew.
