No, the gun fetishists are. They love their guns more than life itself. Even after their child finds a loaded gun and shoots themselves or someone else, like another child.

I'm not a gun fetishist or whatever, I just don't like being told to go shoot myself. Can you refrain from those types of comments towards me please?

Thank you. So they wanted people to have ID? I have to show ID every time I vote. I don't get the outrage.
They hired consultants to find out what kinds of ID that POC used. They then made those forms of ID unacceptable. They did away with early voting and closed the polling stations where POC voted. They purged voter rolls, specifically names that sounded like they were African American. They found people in other states that couldn't vote and purged anyone with a similar name in their state from the voter rolls.

That is something I will be looking into. Thank you for the response. Werenthe IDs not state issued? This is very interesting.

I have to chuckle at the colored sounding names thing. Black, White, Washington, Jefferson, Freeman, etc. are all very common names on both spectrums thanks to the crap down south a few years ago.

I still don't quite understand the ID thing. I will look into it. Thanks again.

I believe, in Texas, they made the law so that COLLEGE photo ID's were not accepted...but CONCEALED-CARRY permit ID's were.

Besides rampant ethnic cleansing of voter rolls, they also would rather not have young people and millennials voting.

With Latinos the name purge would be quite simple. Generally the same would work for Asian Americans. Don't just look at last names for African Americans, look at first names.

Don't get too happy, Dallas County voted for Obama. It's the fuckers in the Boondocks you have to worry about.

Yeah, yeah, the judge is a democrat, so facilitating crooked elections was a forgone conclusion.

A look at Florida's gerrymandered maps shows a special expertise in such things by the Republican party.

Trying to claim your opposition are as bad (or worse) than your own continues to be a weak defence.

Gerrymandering should be made illegal.

Gerrymandering should be made illegal.

Lets be fair, both parties are guilty of this. for damn near a century there was no chance that a Republican was going to win in Texas, until of course the 'Pubs decided to fellate the racists.

And counting prison populations as citizens when it comes time to gerrymander. I guess they get invisible votes while behind bars.

My solution? Grid lines. No damn twisted winding districts. They'd all be square except those on the coasts and some state borders.

Some of what looks like gerrymandering is encouraged and promoted by the Voting Rights Act. It encourages the creation of districts in which minority members constitute a majority, ensuring significant minority representation. It was enacted by the democrats, because, of course, minorities tend to vote democrat. Minority Majority districts are almost certain to be democrat. This often results in the twisted, winding districts which show up on a map of districts.
Having created the problem, the democrats howl because the districts surrounding the twisted minority district often are Republican. Removing the minorities/democrats into one district often results in surrounding districts which cannot muster a democrat majority.

So it had nothing to do with putting all minority voters into isolated ghetto districts in order to protect the pure whiteness of others?
