I got online in the very late 90's. Wasn't politically active online. The first place that I ran across shit was in gay chat rooms at Talk City. Some damn hateful 'good' christians there.

In '01 I was newly single and started poking around the web a whole lot more. I found a lot of political forums/sites. If you want cesspools, take a trip through the conservative ones. Every time I read one of them I wanted to Purell my brain and steam clean my computer.

Some of the most vile things I've been called have been by 'good gawd fearin' christians. I've been told hundreds of times that I should be put to death because of my sexuality. We (LGBTs) have been blamed for hurricanes and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. And a shitload of those 'good gawd fearin' christians believe it.

No small wonder why I've become jaded. And no small wonder why I no longer take shit from anyone anymore.

And when I tell someone online to ESAD, do I really want them to die? No. Do I want them killed? No. I just want them to STFU. People who've known me irl know that my bark is far worse than my bite.

I still consider Trump the most anti-American candidate (with a chance to get any electoral votes) since George Wallace...who would have probably been better than Trump.

I may have to back to candidates or presidents I don't know much about, like Harding?? - to find anybody who was worse.

Plenty of those gawd fearing Christians are just bigots. Haven't a clue about the bible, attend a shouty motivational speaker-preacher so they can get excited come Sunday, getting off to all manner of pawn and porn the rest of the week, hating everyone they fear to give themselves comfort.
Even the weakest and meekest of them can exercise their hatred from behind a computer. They've very carefully led an ignorant life. It takes effort.

I've ran into plenty of them IRL and seen them in action. What they were screaming at the Pride parade here was pretty nasty.
