I kinda believe in ghosts, but not sure. I've witnessed some things happen in my old house which made me seriously think about ghosts being real, lol but i dont know.

This is in the Poll Forum, but there doesn't appear to be a poll attached to this thread.

Whatever. I've experienced so-called 'ghost' phenomena (for want of a better term) many times during the past 40 years; 'belief' really doesn't come into it; in fact, I generally consider 'belief' to be a worthless concept. However, I see no reason to accept the notion that 'ghost' phenomena has anything whatsoever to do with the 'departed' or in anyway confirms the idea of the existence of 'consciousness' following death.

all through my childhood i lived w/ ghosts i have hours of stories i witnessed:eek:

No I don't believe in them, but it's fun to think that they do

I do!! But really don't know what they are.

I have seen one in my new house were we lived from 1986 to 2002. I used to look up the log hallway and see this old lady dressed in th style of around 1880. She was carrying folded linens between rooms.

I saw her a number of times. Finally I told her that her work was done and she could leave at any time. A few weeks later my 4 year old Son looked at the end of the Hallway and seemed to be watching someone walking across the Family Room and out the Front Door. I could see no-one. I asked him what he was looking at and he told me that an old lady in an old fashioned dress had walked across the Family Room and out the door. I had never told anyone about my sighting of her in the house.

She ws never seen again. However in this house I have seen an old man standing near the oven once.

A staff member of mine (Frank) rented a house from our employer (State Road Construction Orgn). This was while his house was being built. The house he rented as marked for demolition for a new Freeway. His friend (Bob) worked in the area that collected the Rent and he asked Frank if he had noticed anything unusual in the house. Frank said yes that they often saw an old man in his pyjamas watching them in the house. The house was resumed from an old man who had buitl extensive landscaping over the years and it was a showpiece. The house was taken and the man ended up in a Nursing Home and then died of a broken heart over being separated from this beloved home.

What is it????

Jesus said in the Bible that he was not a ghost and they should not be afraid. Why would He say not to be afraid of something that did not exist???

Anyone have any ideas???

They exist. I've been in too many dark rooms, abandon houses, and people's places that I just get this "feeling" and the hair on the back of my head stands up. It's almost like a sense that I'm being watched. It can be unnerving at first but you get use to it it.

Most ghosts don't mean us any harm....there just like expose prints of life that the former person experienced (good or bad) but the ones that died a violent death or were real sons of bitches in life....they have the power to inflict pain. I was with a friend of mine back in high school when we use to check out old buildings and other stuff....we were maybe 14 or 15 years old. He got one hellva scratch down his back...it drew blood. I got this feeling that we needed to leave now. We did and outside I checked him out...funny thing is he didn't trip, fall down or run into anything. It just "appeared". Now I don't go around telling people this story because most people would have be suited up for a straight jacket but you guys don't know me so enjoy! ;) Think what you may.....but I believe!!

I do paranormal investiations and I have seen heard some interesting things.

Must be nice....

Yeah I believe in ghosts, just wish all the Closet Paranormal Investigators or Researchers contact me so I can join in on their investigations.

To answer the question, I tend to be pretty skeptical of that kind of thing altogether.

And since your thread has no poll attached, I moved it from the poll forum to hot topics. :-)

I've seen alot of crazy shit in my life...stuff that would freak out most people..
So,have i seen ghosts? you bet...but,ghosts are nothing..

I've lived in one house and two apartments with ghosts. Bad luck, I guess.

I've heard ghosts in my childhood house and seen ghosts in the two apartments. Creepy but harmless.

Oh, yeah. They exist. And they don't necessarily stay in one place.

My favorite one is (go ahead, call me stupid) is a Dog. He died in a house fire in 1929 on my Mother's place. There is a new house there now that my Mom lives in. Mom has seen him there, I have seen him in Colorado, California and Minnesota, all places where I have lived. He likes to get around, although I personally haven't seen him in about 10 years. Mom has, and I think since she moved back there to 'his' place he hasn't traveled much; Mom reports him regularly, and happy. Her Lab (alive!) and him used to play together. Smokey (the Lab) and the Ghost Dog would wrestle in the yard!

The house in the UP has 2 Ghosts, we know who they are. 2 girls, orphans, Minnie and Maude, died of diptheria around 1910 in that house. Their real names were Minnie and Maude Endahl but their headstone in the cemetery reads 'Youngberg', their foster parents. Mom reports that one night one of the Girls (Mom was spending the night) woke her up and requested the headstone be changed so she could get some rest. And the kicker...I had NEVER told Mom the story...and Mom told me BOTH their names, and the story.

I did have an unexplained experience fairly recently that I detailed in this thread. Absent of other explanations, I guess it could probably classified as as something paranormal. But I've yet to be convinced that ghosts exists.

What if when people think that they see or come in contact with ghosts, but instead they are somehow coming in contact with with beings or phenomena associated with the infinite parallel universes that exist in the eleventh dimension? Which according to M-theory, exists in an extremely thin layer and runs across every point in our universe. So in theory, untold number of parallel universes are running through and all over your body and every other point in the universe. Sounds like pretty close contact to me.

What if ........ is the result of presuming that there is a rational explanation for the inexplicable that will address the curious nature of human reasoning, to understand that which confuses human logic into believing that it can compute all that the human senses detect.

"The Twilight Zone" and "The Outer Limits", garnished with a little of Ray Bradbury's imaginative invitations to enjoy an adventure in the realm of the inexplicable, does help the human person to consider that there are matters that the human senses are unable to grasp when relying entirely upon human reasoning.

The "mystic" might offer the view that all that matters is so often obscured by that which we fail to see, for want of refusing to accept that which is contrary to human reasoning. Which leads us into another thought.......

For two summers (75 & 76) I worked in a hotel in northern NH that was only open in the summer. I would hear people talking and doors shutting when we had an empty house during the early and late parts of the season. During the busy part of the season we would have a night watchman and he told me that in the ball room he would see a couple dancing sometimes when he looked through the doors and at other times he would see the same couple seated at a table in the dining room.

Don't believe in them. Never had a ghost experience. I think anybody that does have an experience is simply interpreting events as their minds want them to.

Never had a reason to believe in ghosts...

So?

You think you've seen it ALL in La$ Vega$?

Well, if you want some pretty good Italian food + some "ghostly" entertainment (maybe)....

Go to Carluccio's Restaurant in Tivoli Gardens....

This joint used to be owned by none other than the Rhinestone King himself, Liberace. See, it was formerly Liberace's Tivoli Gardens, and he designed the interior himself, so you can guess what that looks like (it was reopened a few years after his death, and they kept the decor pretty much intact). This kind of history is more and more rare in this town with no memory, plus it's right next door to the Liberace Museum, no coincidence, so go pay your giggling respects in the late afternoon and then stop here for dinner. Expect traditional Italian food (pasta, pasta, pasta, and scampi), but done very very well.

Strange happenings occur at this place....the piano plays by itself (NOT a player piano), someone knocks on the back door (NO one there), pictures slide off the wall, bottles of booze drop to the floor at the bar, etc, etc...

So, next time you have some FREE time, go eat at Carluccios and go next door and tour the Liberace' Museum!

BOO! (OOPS, halloween's over!)lol(*8*)(*8*):kiss::kiss:
