  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Who do you find yourself more comfortable working with/for? male or female?

I've always felt more comfortable working with and for women. I've only once had a male boss for any length of time, and it was a bit of a disaster (aided and abetted by him being a complete shit); a few times in my temping career I found myself supervised by a man, and it worked out well if he was the sweet and shy type rather than the blustering or aggressive type...macho men always spark a feeling of contempt on my part in a work situation.

I think it's because I grew up surrounded by women...I understand women, I know how to act to make them like me, I get their energy and their logic. I get along with male coworkers, but I always become friends with my female coworkers.

This.

I prefer female coworkers and a female boss. I don't like all of the macho competition vibe that most men give off, and the female bosses I've had always seemed to be in control, yet in a cooperative way, men seem more hierarchical.

My current boss is a he, and he's the best boss ever. Generally I prefer working with men and I like having a male boss, there is less drama...|

I would have to say females as co-workers but either one as a boss. I used to work in reservations, which was predominantly female, and it was a blast. Granted there was drama but I also had many good friends. More importantly, it was very gay-friendly. Currently, I work at the airport with a predominantly male staff. When I first started it was a boys club atmosphere, especially when it came to personal stuff like girlfriends or wives. Now, since we've cut so many people because of the economy, it's a much better although I still miss my old work environment.

On a side note, I wouldn't want attractive male co-workers or boss. I'm sorry but if they're physically attractive it can be a bit distracting to say the least. I'd still do my job of course, but I'd make an effort not to pay attention to them, especially if they're straight.

I prefer working with men, both as co-workers and as bosses. Direct and productive. I can handle machismo.

there's less drama, but there's always drama. Espeecially if there's some underlying [STRIKE]sexual[/STRIKE] displaced tension there.

That's an easy question to answer. I would choose to work with guys every single time. From experience, female bosses like to show who's in charge. Most of them are complete bitches.

Work with females but male boss.

Current work place all female in the department. I'm the only male! lol.

Don't care as long as they have a "you can fuck around, as long as you get shit done" kind of attitude

It does not matter to me as long as the job is executed properly. Personally, I've had men be just as dramatic as women, but it's often in a different way. Unfortunately, I can't say that one sex is better than other.

Append "between the sheets" to this post and it becomes hilarious. :rotflmao:

It makes no difference to me, really as long as those who work with me and manage me know what they're doing, I am fine.

This is a bit of a trick question for me.

As working the cosmetic industry, I am surrounded by women. At least 98.9 percent of my coworkers at any given time are women, including my manager. I have to say being a lone male in an all female environment has it's benefits and advantages. Men in the cosmetic industry, that can salvage through it, can often find themselves very successful and become great mangers, reps, executives, trainers etc. Women are drawn to male energy gay or straight.

At this point it's hard for me to think of working with alots of men at work. Though I do appreciate a fellow male in my industry now and then, it's refreshing.
