read what i previously wrote to jory its on THIS page.. I agree that its nothing to be upset about meaning the topic.. but it IS in fact a popularity contest.
Fair enough. But, in life (and on JUB) you can't always be the star. The world doesn't revolve around you and you aren't always the best, the most intelligent, the fastest, the kindest, the best looking, the most atheletic, or the most popular. That's life.
Also, we each get our moments to shine. We each have traits and talents that make us stand out from the crowd. We have our areas where we are the absolute best. Whether it's being noticed for being a good friend, a kind hearted person, a brilliant person, a beautiful person, or anything else. And that's our moment in the sun. That's when everyone focuses on us and pays attn to us. We all receive compliments too. And no doubt, most of us really enjoy those moments.
Personally, I'd hate to think that I needed attn all the time. I'd hate to think that I couldn't applaud or recognize someone else for the things that I admired or appreciated in them. I'd hate to think that I thought the world was all about me. I'd hate to think that I had to ruin the other persons chance to shine by whining about it.
Look, these JUB threads aren't serious. It's so not a big deal. The sexiest JUBBERS didn't win a million dollars. They didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize. They haven't been elected to government. They weren't awarded Olympic gold medals. Calm down folks. It aint worth getting up in arms. This is a picnic, not a war.
In my opinion, these "popularity threads" are an opportunity to celebrate one another. It's no different than the Happy Birthday threads, the post count threads, or the I'm going on vacation/taking a leave of absence threads.
And guess what, if we changed the title to "Which JUBBER is the funniest?" the folks named in this thread, wouldn't appear in that one. If you had a, "Which JUBBER is the most intelligent" thread you'd get yet another different list of people. Again, we all shine at different things. We aren't in elementary school anymore, so please don't expect to receive a green participants ribbon.
