Who eats Brussels sprouts for Thanksgiving???

dont eat them for thanksgiving because we dont celebrate it but i love them with christmas dinner, only me and my mum like them i could eat a whole bowl full as long as theyre cooked :D
 
Never eat them for Thanksgiving dinner or at anytime. Just do not like them at all!
 
I like Brussell sprouts, but I've never "tossed them with olive oil and roasted with lots of salt." The way I fix mine is to cook them in water with a little salt and butter - just enough water to cover them, bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer them till they're tender, adding water as needed to keep the pot from completely boiling dry.. Just before they're done, sprinkle a little sugar over them and cook them till the water is almost gone. The sugar makes the outer layers of leaves sweet and crispy.
 
I eat them any day. I only recently grown to like them in recent years. I like to season them lightly with salt and garlic powder.

They are NOTHING like cabbages

But i would eat B/S on a bed of cabbage --- totally acceptable

Saute the shredded cabbage with a couple drops of oil - a sprinkle of sugar and a dash of caraway seeds !!

yeee-um! They are great steamed and then drizzled with olive oil and some garlic and onion powder. Great source of fiber and chock full of vitamins too.
 
i like a brussels sprout, roasted then i sprinkle some balsamic vinegar over them, olive oil, s&p .....YUMMY
 
^ damn now that sounds really good... they are best roasted... i would only add some sea salt to the above.

On another note they sure do make ya toot.

Well...you can make anything taste good if you put enough butter on it.
 
I'm not a big brussel sprout fan. If they are prepared correctly, I will eat them. If they are just boiled, forget it...

My ex, Dave, used to love them quartered and roasted in the oven. So I used to make them for him.

I thought the love hate /relationship with Brussel Sprouts was a British thing ! Now I know it seems to be the same in the States. The only difference is in the UK they are regarded by some as an essential part of a Christmas dinner ! (Hated by others !)
