Who else is excited for Darren Aronofsky's "Noah"?

Ham started out with a lie: he claims he's starting from God's position while Nye is starting with man's. But Ham is starting with a purely human invention, a theological position called "literalism". The Bible doesn't teach literalism -- that's a purely human presumption.

I haven't gotten to the Noah part yet.
 
I love the fables of ancient gods (even though I believe in none of them).

I'll probably wait until the DVD release however.

Agreed.. Although I'm not a theist, this particular version of Noah's story appears entertaining to me. I liken it to the many stories of the Greek Gods told through movies like Clash of the Titans and other sandal wearing films lol..

I certainly won't be spending my money on this big, noisy, fake, Mega-Dolby, Mega-digital, pixel-spectacle.

I've heard that Aronofsky (who I assume is Jewish) has censored any mention of God. I thought it was God who told Noah to build the big boat.

Am I wrong? Have I been misinformed?
 
The great flood story appears in all the mythology and history of that region.

Quite simply, the Mediterranean broke through and created the Black sea. Which is why it is stratified into two distinct layers of water.

Noah made have had forewarning of this event and built a big boat to hold him, his family and their livestock. When I saw the clip with all the animals of the earth coming to join Noah from the upcoming movie...that was it for me. I won't even watch it when released on TV.
 
They sure did look like they were attempting to rush the exits from the theatre.
