Who else thought Spiderman 3 sucked?

so I thought the guy in 2 with the mechanical arms guy was going to turn into the lizard, is that also peters teacher? what and what are we talking about...

In a nerdy sense: it lived up to my expectations, kicked ass, and had my friends talking excitedly for quite some time.

In a general movie sense: acting sucked, too dramatic/predictable, and Kirsten "Dunce" should never EVER have been MJ... ever.

So yeah, it was entertaining, but no points for acting ability or intriguing plot.

P.S. Topher Grace as Venom is hot.... but for some reason, only as Venom. Hmm...

the movie was amazing!!!
totally lived up to my expectation but did not like any bit about mary jane!
like so depressing ugly cow get out the movie!

I thought it was awesome and I can't wait to see it again.

Where did the asteroid with the goo come from? The same place everything in comic books comes from. A guy bitten by a radioactive spider who now shoots webs out his wrists is plausible but space goo isn't? It's a comic book, and Sam Raimi gets it.

Maybe not quite as tight as 2, but that's a high bar to reach.

The whole theater erupted in spontaneous applause at the end, and because they liked it, not because they were glad it was over.

Can't wait for 4!

..... this was the weakest of the 3 but name a trilogy where the third installment was equal to the rest.....

Name one...The Return of the Jedi.

Yes Spiderman 3 was not quite as well written and as tight as Spiderman 2 because there was too much going on, but I thought it was terrific. Like 2 it at least had a human interest story about the characters instead of just stuff happening. I think that's why I like Spiderman so much. The action is built around the story instead of a the other way around. Some don't like that I guess. But character and plot development is what makes the film for me.

So not quite as good as 2 I give it B+.

i thought it was bad they killed a strong character who could have had a big part in the next story line. :( i also thought Shrek 3 was not as good as 2 it seemed not much was happening

I finally went to see it. I thought it was by far the weakest of the three. I was bummed that they killed Harry and I hated the emo Peter. They just seemed to be going through the motions. It was completely joyless.

It sucked it felt like they just didn't feel like going with the green goblin storyline but the previous two had been building up to it so they just threw it in there in a clumsy unnecessary way. The ending was the most forced thing EVER with that ridiculous butler appearing out of no where and being fully aware of everything crap... here's a crazy idea if you want the character to do the right thing just make him grow as a character and realize sure he killed my father... but my father was trying to be a mass murder so I geuss it was justified. It was just ridiculous. The character of MJ just seemed like a complete spoiled brat and it just sucked sucked sucked.

Count me in.

Me thinks Tobey Mcquire had grown too fat (try to see the beach photo of him and his gf) and could not cut down his size on time, so, the movie did not even try to show his body shoulder down. Pathetic for someone who was trying very hard in the beginning to be Peter Parker. Like he was no longer sincere to his character.

And the dark humor of Peter trying to be cool was not welcomed.

And the villians were nothing spectacular.

Much debated point because I always felt that "empire" was a hell of a lot better... but hey just my own opinion

WOW, based on this thread I think I will wait for the DVD. If its really that bad or hasn't made enough money then surely it will be on DVD in about a week or so.

Toooooooo long and toooooooo many bad guys,

I agree!! I think the third film would have been much better if they would have stuck with just the Hob-goblin and Sandman as the villians. They could have introduced the black suit in this film and had Venom be the focus of the next one. Venom is a strong enough bad-guy to be the focus of a Spiderman film by himself. Plus Harry seemed to redeem himself alittle too quickly for my liking. And poor Mary Jane had little more to do than act depressed or be in danger. She was little more than plot filler.

Right hand UP! Left hand...UP!!

There are about 5 reasons why I hated this movie.

1.) Toby Mcquire is boring and cannot hold an audiences' attention as an actor to save his life
2.) No Black Cat
3.) Bad choice of villains (besides Venom)
4.) Kristen Dunst singing
5.) Toby Mcquire trying to be cool.....AND James Franco's face gets fucked up![-X

Oh come now! Jabba the Hutt AND Ewoks, I've always loved Jedi the best...

But as for the movie #3 question. Lord of the Rings was pretty consistent throughout and the third one got the oscars so I'd say that's a third one that stood up to the others

And all I wanna do is to fuck James Franco's face. Hmmmm....

his little emo wannabe fringe was pathetic, it didn't even cover his eyebrows!

Actually the best actor in the films was killed in the first one.

William Dafoe was quite possibly one of the best Villains portrayed by an actor.

No offene, but James Franco, is a terrible actor. He's stone, he lacks decent facial expressions and has trouble emoting the character he plays.

...It's already bad enough some peopel on here think he stole the show because of his huge buldge. I mean if you're going to rate a movie based on who's got the bigger package? Go watch the Batman with George Clooney His Cock piece is bigger than Robin's.

Sandman didn't die either. I'd like to know how that conclusion was come to by people. He escaped, Spider-Man let him get away.

I mean the biggest problem was this:

Venom: You want to kill the Spider, I want to kill the Spider... Let's team up and both kill him!

Sandman: I like that idea!

Later after all is said and done;

Sandman: I never wanted any of this! THis isn't what I wanted at all.

Okay was that nothing but lip service or a complete retcon of the scene where him and Venom teamed up?

Harry, becoming good was a bit much as well. I mean Come on the kid is fucking MENTAL, MENTAL with the Green Crazy Gas. He wasn't going to have a change of heart.

Perhaps for the next movie Norman will take the mantle of the Goblin up again (Like he did in the comics).

You think this one was cheesey? Both of it's predecessor's had cheese and plenty of it. Go watch them again... I mean "Shazam!" or the whole "Raindrops keep fallin on my head" scene in Spidey-2 when they ACTUALLY FREEZE the frame after Connor's tells him he's doing a good job in class again?

Give me a break.

I agree they took the whoel strut thing too far but that's not the first time they've done it.

All the movies had their cheese and they all had their problems...
If you ask me They're all on the same level, one really isn't better than the other, they're just... what they are.

I really like William Defoe but in the two sqeuls he got less screen time so thatr's way I put Franco in front.

I agree there was Cheese in 2 hated the end scene with the wedding and the raindrops but they didn't seem to last as long as the crappy "dark" Peter scenes.

It was really bad, could not wait for it to be over, just hope the next Harry Potter movie is as good as the preview they were showing.
