Be honest, now....

Still putting money in Swanson's coffers ?

Does the mere mention of 'Stouffers' start to make you drool ?

I hadn't had one in a long time. But I was in the grocery store and decided on a whim (and a buy one get one free offer) to try the 'Hungry Man' Salisbury Steak, and Fried Chicken Dinners.

Good Lord, what have I done ?

The fried chicken one is still resting comfortably in my freezer, but the Salisbury steak has just emerged from my oven.

Word fail me.

A gelatinous mass of something they're passing off as 'gravy' is slowly oozing down the side of two grayish looking hockey pucks purported to be hamburger patties.

Who is eating this stuff ?

Thoughts ?

I am a very good cook--but now that I am living alone I find that it is easier but to stick a frozen pizza in the oven--the tv dinners tend to be really to salty for me.

We eat t.v. dinners pretty frequently. Neither of us cooks and it's just quicker to pop something in the microwave. I voted for "once in a while" b/c fast food is still my number one choice for a quick, yummy meal.

I have a few in the freezer for times when I want a hot meal but either can't bother to leave the house, or don't want to wait for delivery. They are precisely what they are, and knowing that, I have no problem with them.

ill eat the south beach wheat pizza occasionally if that counts? othen then that i usually have smoothies or cook, eat out. .

I bought one of their so called "hungry man" dinners a couple years ago and it was pitiful. I remember swanson having a pretty good tv dinner years back. I now keep a stock of Marie Callender on hand.

I chose starvation.
First I enjoy cooking, and two the give and take of wasking dishes
as a couple, for me have no dishwasher, except us. Usually I do not eat in a rush either.

I like my own cooking, thankyou.

There is no comparison between Stouffer's and Swanson

I eat Stouffers, but I won't touch a Swanson dinner

I have Healthy Choice & Marie Caldendars quite often. I find them to be quite good. Also, like Riddick22, I have had the South Beach pizzas. Very yummy.

OMG Healthy Choice is the greatest. I love the mushrooms and beef tips one.

Marie Callender's and Stouffer's is what I keep on hand. I don't eat them often, but for those nights when I want to cure the hunger and nothing else, I'll make that my choice.

If I want pizza, I'll order delivery. Frozen pizza is like wet cardboard. I just can't do it!

I hadn't eaten one since childhood.
When my mother was in the hospital for the last time in 2001, I spent a couple of weeks in the hospital with her.

A month or so after she passed, I noticed WalMart was carrying Boston Market frozen dinners. We don't have Boston Market around here. I had heard they were pretty good restaurants, and gay friendly to boot, so I got one.
When I opened the microwave, the unmistakable funk of "hospital food" came rolling out. Suddenly my mind was back in the hospital and all the emotional baggage hit me like a brick. It was so powerful it was almost a physical assault.

That's how I figured out the "hospital food smell" is microwaved mashed potatoes. I'll never make that mistake again, and I'll have to screw up my courage to ever walk into a Boston Market. I know the restaurants can't possibly survive serving crap like that, but the emotional hit was really brutal.

Stouffer's Stuffed Peppers are pretty good. And I'll only eat Marie Callender PotPies.

No frozen pizza here either, I'd rather eat the cardboard under 'em. Order delivery for me also. Callenders Pot pies are the best.

I'm a student, so tv dinners are part of the basic food group.

Although, when cooked properly, I do enjoy the taste I'll admit.

Shit. I eat these all the time. My dad never cooked when I was little so he bought me these and I learned how to make them easily and still eat them when I want a quick meal.

what is a TV Dinner ?

is it watching TV while eating your dinner ?
