I'm not really a doctor.
I've been sure that I'm completely gay since I was 11.

I'm 100% homosexual and maybe 15% heterosexual. (I don't think they are contradictory).
Care to explain that one?![]()

Sure. Most people think of sexuality like your car stereo. (it comes from Kinsey I think) You have only one control knob and you can adjust the balance from left to right and the more sound you get on the left, the less you get on the right. The more sound on the right, the less you get on the left. You can't increase one side without decreasing the other. That is the way we talk about sexuality.
But I think that is wrong. I want a car stereo where you can crank up the left side and/or the right side independently.
I think a lot of people's arguing about labels has to do with this mistaken approach to sexuality. Being bi is not some kind of compromise that increases the person's ability to be gay at the expense of their ability to be straight. I want TWO control knobs, dammit! Two separate independent control knobs!
So in my world, you can be
100% straight and 30% gay (total interest in females; some interest in males)
100% gay and 50% straight (total interest in males; strong interest in females)
100% gay and 100% straight (total interest in males or females)
70% gay and 15% straight (strong interest in males, small interest in females)
30% gay and 8% straight (some interest in males, minor interest in females, and slightly asexual)
100% gay and 2% straight
Or any other combination.
