  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

who is going to buy this sort of crazy prices ?

People will charge whatever other people will pay.

If people will pay $55 for a T-shirt, why charge only $10?

there is an ass for every seat, dont worry, someone will pay those prices.

As demand goes ^ Prices go ^ ... works the other way to.. thats why a couple of years ago everyone thought it was a great idea to NOT buy gas all at once... in theory it should have worked, but i guess not everyone got the memo ;)

What denomination was that in? $55 for a t-shirt? Fuck no! I don't even pay that for a Polo shirt.

Those are pretty cute shirts, they appear to be fairly good quality, the silk-screening is done in layers and there is sometimes applique... all fairly pricy stuff. Especially if it's not made in China.

More importantly, you can't get them at Target... a lot of people will pay extra if it means nobody else at the club will have that very same shirt.

For myself, though... not unless the model delivers it in person. Throw in a lap-dance, and I'll pay $65!

very easy to make. Just buy a plain T-shirt and paint what ever you want.
It becomes a unique shirt no one have.

For people that buy $55 t-shirts, presumably the whole point is that they just spent $55 on a t-shirt. It's entirely possible that they wouldn't sell as many if the price was lower.

I have a friend who's like that. He recently spent $35K on a new car. When I did a little research on the web and found out he could have got the exact same car for $30K, he just shrugged.

Back then when I was buying some of my clothes in skateshops, t-shirts were around $42, sweaters $74 and jeans $110-130...

You're talking about women here. Men will instantly find a new friend if they notice another one wears the same t-shirt.

Works for me. $5 T-shirt from the craft store or Target, a couple Sharpies, a good idea, and boom - T-shirt. Those are the ones I get positive comments on, too. And yes, I get an ego boost when someone asks where I got it. :)

They start fading pretty quick, but after about five, they're more or less "set". I either just leave them like there, or, if I feel the need, I reink them. Reinking takes anywhere from ten to thirty minutes, depending on the design. No big deal. Usually do it in bed before I go to sleep.

I bought a T-shirt from AE Outfitters once, it lasted exactly 1 wash. I also have bought polo's for work from Old Navy that last barely a year. I bought a shirt from the Gap earlier this year and I already don't like how it looks which also reminded me why I don't like things from the Gap.

Now when I buy clothes from Banana Republic (who is owned by the owners of Old Navy and Gap even) their clothes last for years.

My opinion is that SOME more expensive clothes last longer because they use better and more expensive thread and yarn. That is not to say that a cheap material shirt isn't sold at inflated prices. But that quality clothes sold at non-extortion prices are worth what you pay for from reputable companies such as Banana Republic.

I would buy a t-shirt from them for $30 every once in awhile. But the ones I get from them are what, $15.

H&M and American Apparel however do give decent quality at really decent prices.

And H&M have the best boxer briefs I have ever tried (and I've tried everything) If you have FTL or Hanes BB, go to H&M and buy 1 pack, they're not too expensive. I GUARANTY you, you will not be disappointed and may never go back.

^^ Not if the "labor" is only getting paid 35 cent an hour. At that point, labor costs become virtually non-existant.

Unless, it is entirely machine made, I would think just the labor costs alone for making a t-shirt would be over $1. I would not pay $55. But, up to $30, depending on the cut, style, what it is made out of, etc.

of course they are machine made.
Thats how business works. Buy cheap and sell as high as possible.

The other poster is right. They are not going to sell many, therefore they sell top price.
