who likes IKEA?

It's kind of funny - for a while you fall in love with the place, but after a while it starts taking on this Wal-Mart like menacing quality. No offense, but I am really begining to see them as these huge ugly sprawling boxes of a store that with stuff that is very difficult to assemble, very unclearly marked and a little questionable on the way it is advertised (since they don't make it very clear that in order to finish the thing you are building you actually have to buy a whole lot of different parts), and herds their customers in a way that Disney envies.

Don't get me wrong - I love the looks of their stuff, the fact that they have decent looking stuff at a good price, and paticularly their basics stuff in housewares and lighting and such. But as other stores start offering the same thing, but with better quality, then I start to see where they may not be so good.

Ikea is great!
It's kind of like college furniture

Our house was full of IKEA stuff back in Saudi Arabia, and I liked it all too...but not much left now--just a couch and a coffee table.
I wish they'd open a store in Karachi soon even though I'm pretty sure the affordability factor will kick in because of the local price trends. URGH! Everything's so damn expensive here!

Favorite Comment - Ikea is Wal Mart for metro sexuals.

Wow !! After dicking around on their website, I visit JUB and here's a post on IKEA !

I don't really have a problem with their stuff, but I do with the fact that it's like pulling teeth to buy anything from them online.
I just repainted the living room and thought of them for some new pillows. Since the closest store to me is about an 18 hour drive, I went to their website. 99.999% of the items on their site are NOT available for purchase online.
I did order a catalog 3 weeks ago, but it has never arrived.
I also left feedback on their site saying that they could quadruple their business by actually selling something online. Not that it will do any good, but it made me feel better.
I do wish there was a store close by, but oh well.

I have bought a number of stuff from IKEA last year. They are excellent stuff! Good quality, and the price is good! I would come back again if I need more stuff!
