Blue Collar Comedy Tour (Ron White, Bill Engvall, Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy)

While doing some research on George Carlin I found a link to Lenny Bruce. That guy was amazing at how he tackled taboo subjects for his time, like religion. And reading about how conservatives ruined his life and career. They tried to do the same to George, but he fought back hard.

I watched some YouTube vids of Jimmy Carr. Funny, edgy guy. I like watching Dave Chappelle, and just saw a doc on the life and career of Richard Pryor. That was excellent.

I got pulled on stage by Judy Tenuta at an AIDS benefit at the Pacific Design Center some time in the 1990s. I was wearing cowprint jeans that I had made myself plus a ruffled sleeve rumba shirt with a clear plastic vest and red Docker shoes. The first thing she said about me was that I looked like I was about to spawn, and I didn't have an answer for that.
I've always loved Gilda Radner's Roseanne Roseannadanna character, and they used to show her skits at The Midnight Sun in San Francisco, which was nice because I did not have a TV when I lived there.
Today I enjoy watching old Youtube videos of Don Rickles, although I don't think I appreciated him when I was younger. It's difficult to make me laugh, but today I am able to look at myself and laugh, especially when looking at old videos that I have made that were intended to be serious.

Lately I’ve been obsessed with watching British panel shows on YouTube. I’ve always found myself enjoying British comedy more than American comedy so YouTube has proven to be a goldmine. Mostly I’ll hunt down anything James Acaster appears in. Aside from having a thing for skinny nerds that look like they could be in indie rock bands, I’m not biased. The guy is hilarious. Imagine if Mitch Hedberg joined Monty Python. That sort of silly absurdity. I’d recommend his appearances on Would I Lie To You as a starter and go from there. He also has a 4 part stand up special on Netflix for those who are a bit more used to his personality.
