like a singer who sings about sex and fucking guys and poses half naked or nearly naked in all their videos/magazine articles. i think it would be amazing.

You remember when Britney and Madonna did that kiss on stage?

I would LOVE to see two guys doing a 'shock kiss' out of the blue at a major televised music event.

Mind you, I suppose you'd have half the country up in arms and hefty fines on whatever network allowed it. :(

oh yes. it would of been a huge thing that 'middle class america' would never want on their tv i bet.... :[

Adam Lambert.

He's already there.

How right you are.

He's just as annoying as she is.
His fan(tatics) are just as annoying is his.
He's a pint of ice cream away from being fat, as she is.
He has tacky fashion sense, just like she does.
He has awful material, just like she does.

The only difference is he can sing, but who cares there are lots of equally talented singers out there.

Yuck, eww to both.

I don't know how that would work. There's a point where a man loses his sexiness when he's acting overtly sexual in public. Add in all the dancing a male Britney would have to do, and it just sounds like a disaster.

Maybe I'm wrong, but aren't male Britney fans a bit on the femme side? An act who came off as too femme wouldn't be attractive to them. The closest thing we have to a male Britney is Justin Timberlake, no? He doesn't pose half naked or dance that much. His overt sexuality is limited to panting over a woman. He's pretty macho, as strange as that sounds.

I think one of the draws of Britney is the effect she has on the type of guys her fans like. Her dancing and sexiness gets straight guys horny. Her gay fans can emulate what she's doing and still stay in their role.

Wouldn't it be amazing if people would simply listen to music for music's sake, instead of wanting it solely if it's attached to a personality that they can follow on twitter. But I'm over caring what other people want. :)

Sounds boring. ;)

I get really depressed when boredom kicks my ass. That's why I try to avoid it at all costs.

"Boring" and "boredom" are two completely different things.

Quite often, my life is (to any outside observer) unbelievably boring...and yet I'm almost never bored in it.

And at times, I've been in situations that could not, under any circumstances, be called "boring". And I've been bored to tears.

*halfway through G-Lex's post*

Zzzzzzzzzzzz....snork!

Huh? Oh sorry. You were saying?

It doesn't matter what I was saying. It doesn't matter if you found it boring. Because, see, *I* didn't. My post may have been boring, but I wasn't bored making it. :)

Sure, think of yourself! Meanwhile there are huddled masses out here needing entertainment! Music for music's sake doesn't cut it, sir! :p

I know you're kidding, but I think you're on to something. To me, the music is sufficient. I can be entertained plenty without the persona, the headlines, the twitter drama, the "leave (male Britney) alone!", the "hater" threads, the stunningly successful comebacks.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I honestly think I'm happier. :)

An album of 10-12 songs can be consumed pretty quickly. There has to be more.

The only reason I now love Britney Spears is when she went through her mentally insane phase where she was running to starbucks three times a day and decided to shave her head.

Never payed her any attention until then.

Mainly because I identified with the trouble she was having, I had similar issues and I saw a lot of myself in the actions she was making.

I connected with her on a personal level (But never knew her personally) and not on a musical level.

This was when her blackout album came out, that is when I became a fan of her music. I really hate her early stuff. It's strange. People say it is her best stuff.

I agree with you that music is music.

Pop the CD into your car, play a song, then keep moving the fuck on. Not that serious.

And there's the difference. I'm plenty entertained. I don't need anything more than the music. If I want "more", I can go listen to older material by the artist. Or find similar artists. There's just shy of a million albums put out every year - don't tell me you've listened to them all and left you wanting. :)

Lex

There's plenty of music out there, but you don't connect with all of it. You don't connect with the artist. You don't get interested in their life and want to learn all about them and what they're doing (or who they're doing).
