Who/When did you learn to drive?

As soon as I turned 16, the legal age for a permit, I was out driving.

My mom taught me. My dad tried, but we were like oild and water.

I taught myself in a field at 10 / 11 y/o full m/cycle license @ 17 car didn't bother till 21 Road roller @ 24 HGV @ 27 had formal training for HGV only.

Growing up with grandparents who were farmers, I could drive a tractor and a stick-shift truck before I could drive a car. I'm pretty-much self-taught.

I can't drive, and I doubt that I'll ever bother to learn (or be able to afford to own and run a car).

My dad taught me to drive the old family car, a standard transmission Plymouth, when I was sixteen. He was fairly patient with me, and took me on regular city streets for lesson #one. Once I had managed the clutch, the rest was easy.

I was a bit older than my friends. I was already going on 17 when I started learning. My father was the one who taught me, mainly. They were building a new neighborhood down the street from us - all of the streets and signs were in place, but no houses yet. So it was the perfect place to learn to drive. I did go to a driving school, but didn't learn much there - that was just for the insurance break.

My older brother taught me when I was 10. I used to stare at his feet and memorize the clutch operations. Then I got caught "taking the car out" when I was 12! Just so happened, my mom pulled up behind me at a red light. We were about 12 miles from home.

I passed when I was 17 - the earliest in the UK, so have been driving for about 2 years now! And I had an instructor teach me, family teaching didn't work well!!

A driving instructor, 20 or so 1-hour lessons, just after my 18th birthday.
Got my driving-license 2 or 3 months after my 18th birthday

In Holland 18 is the minimum age for driving a car, 16 is for mopeds/scooters

no1 really my stepfather tried to here and there but ha i had to learn myself video games helped ^_^ when i was about to turn 18 i got my permit waited my 6 months and got my lic

My mother originally taught me but we argued so much in the car, that I ended up hiring an instructor. We get along fine normally, but under those circumstances we just didn't see eye to eye. I was 17 at the time, just a few weeks after my birthday.

My parents taught me how to drive. My dad took me to empty parking lots to start with, and from there I just started driving whenever the family went anywhere together. I never took a formal drivers ed class though.

I was 15 when I was able to do it legally, but I'd been driving since I was about 13-14 with my parent's permission. Usually, it was with them, but on occasion I took the car out alone. I still can't believe how irresponsible they were to let me do that, yet I was thrilled to death that they let me. I learned how to drive a manual on my own, in a parking lot, while my mother was shopping, etc.
