Whoopi Goldberg:Hasselbeck,most death threats

Probably from members of the republican party for making them look bad.

Why would anybody be making death threats against anyone on the The View?

They neglected to mention that is was Rosie O'Donnell who made the threats.

Thank-U for posting this. This totally brings the whole Palin and repubs are the only cause of death threats into reality. Nice Job! Elisabeth is a sweet girl who bravely stands up to the pack on the View. In fairness, Walters is usually fairly objective. I hope none of these intolerant and violent liberals would ever act on their hate.

"Politically we could not be more opposite, but I respect her tremendously. Truth is, we could not have a dialogue without Elizabeth. It's not that we have to agree, the important thing is that we have the conversation."
--I give Whoopi alot of credit for knowing how to respect and appreciate those with differing views. Something commonly absent on this website.

Oh the sweet smell of hypocrisy...

My apologies,if this has been posted before.I have not heard this story.Whoopi Goldberg, has said that Elisabeth Hasselbeck(the one lone conservative,on the daily talk show"The View")receives the most death threats, then any other co-hosts,on the show.

Just proves who the true haters are.

i like your logic.

I also think it's unfair for people assume that Elisabeth is disliked because she's a republican. I dislike Elisabeth because she's hypocritical, snide, rude, inconsiderate, shrill, unintelligent and annoying. If I were a republican, I'd be embarrassed about her representing me. When the $150,000 Palin wardrobe issue was just dying down, what genius brought it back up again on the campaign trail? Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

umm no...

Actually,she is a successful young woman,with a beautiful family.She just has a different view point.She was/is a very gracious election loser.....

I watch The View every day and Elisabeth has been all of the things I said she is. I don't believe she is sincere in the least about Obama. She has been getting into it with Joy a lot and is on thin ice with Barbara. She probably got talked to before the show or she realized that her party is no longer in power and it wouldn't be a good look to trash the president the day after he won. Elisabeth bashed Obama for months, made an unwarranted snide comment about Michelle at the RNC and has repeated Sean Hannity and negative campaign talking points. To go from that to praising Obama is beyond disingenuous. She was raised liberal and when she was on Survivor she wasn't even into politics. She got with Tim Hasselbeck whose family is right wing and she became the right wing parrot she is today. She doesn't have any views. She repeats whatever Sean Hannity says or whatever is popular with the republicans at the time. She doesn't have any consistent views -- she just defends republicans.

Who in Baracks name could watch the view everyday?

I watched before anyone knew who Elisabeth was besides her friends and family. I liked the cast of Star Jones, Meredith Vieira, Joy, Barbara and Lisa Ling. I still like the idea of the show, I just don't like Elisabeth. I actually wish Kathy Griffin would've gotten Sherri's seat.

How can you be watching the view everyday. Do you have a job at age 29?

^^I'm just guessing here, but you do know that we've had the ability to record TV programs for some time now?

Recording The View should be even more embarrassing than watching it.

Elizabeth is such a tool.

I disagree with her strongly, but I don't wish her death.

Some people take her too seriously... more seriously than she deserves to be taken.

Although I have no plans to respond to the poster directly, I will dissect and correct the following quotes.

Absolutely. Had democrats lost like that Joy Behar wud be swearing her mouth off.
I do think Joy as well as a lot of Americans would be disappointed that the candidate they wanted did not win. Obama got votes from independents, democrats and republicans.

Elisabeth is poised and professional despite the parade of bullies they have had on the View.
Elisabeth has not been poised and she has been unprofessional on many occasions. She has cried on the air for losing arguments or being confronted with facts more than once. Barbara Walters has had to chastise her on the air more than once. Elisabeth got into the infamous argument with Rosie on the air and she attacked Sandra Bernhardt when she was a guest.

She was complimentary of Obama when he won and even mentioned she had told her little girl to respect Obama as the new president (nothing I wud ever teach my kids for sure) but none-the-less certainly not bitter or whatever that JUB member u replied to accused her of.
I've already explained that she was gracious the day after Obama won and the most likely reasons why. Either she was insincere or she is very easily swayed. While she has not publicly insulted Obama since the election, she insulted the person he chose for chief of staff in defense of Rush Limbaugh calling him and Obama "Chicago thugs", so I'll go with insincere.

Elisabeth is in a minority on that show and she has to stand firm. People attack her with typical liberal insults like dumb, bigoted, stupid, spoiled, hateful, blond, bitch, republican, white. She knows that she is the one everyone is out to get on that show.
Every disagreement or discussion in politics is partisan. It's very possible to dislike/hate Elisabeth without it having anything to do with politics. Nobody in this thread called Elisabeth any of those names, but it's interesting that the poster thinks republican, white and blonde are insults as they are listed next to bigoted and hateful.

Joy is obviously a democrat, but she has complimented several republicans and said she would have voted for Ron Paul. Joy is not anti-republican. She also said she likes McCain, but didn't agree with his policies and didn't like the way he ran the campaign.

Sherri voted for the first time because she was raised as a Jehovah's witness and they don't vote. She converted and she got involved in the process. In essence, Sherri is independent since was undecided at the beginning of the presidential race. She like Sarah Palin and she has a lot of conservative views. Sherri was not "out to get" Elisabeth. She eventually chose Barack because she thought he was the better choice.

Whoopi has voted republican in the past and has dated men who don't necessarily agree with her political views and may have voted differently from her. She isn't "out to get Elisabeth".

Barbara has a history of dating republican men and being friends with many of them. She wasn't "out to get" Elisabeth either.

If the women on the show argue with Elisabeth a lot, it's because of factors other than her political affiliation.

What courage and grace under fire.
Nothing Elisabeth says is courageous. The co-executive producer (along with Barbara Walters) is Bill Geddie who is right wing. Rosie O'Donnell revealed that Elisabeth is Geddie's favorite in part because he gives her talking points through her earpiece and she readily repeats them. Elisabeth also gets talking points from Sean Hannity. It doesn't take much courage to parrot what another person says under the protection of an executive producer.

"Grace"? There are clips all over YouTube showing her yelling, crying, interrupting, being inarticulate and poorly interviewing guests.

Elisabeth is very hateful, nasty and bitter, so it's only fitting.

But, I'm pretty sure if she had her head up Obama's ass like a lot of people here, you'd be all about her and wouldn't have made such idiotic and obviously bias remarks in this thread.

As for the topic, that's pretty sad. It's sad when someone who has an opposing view is personally threatened or has personal attacks on her just because she doesn't jump on the bandwagon like a good chunk of Obama supporters.
