for my first thread, I'd like to ask, WHO out there is a band geek to the core?

this could include anyone who is in, or has been in marching band, jazz band, general school band, color guard, drum and bugle corp, DCI, anything band geeky!

I've been in marching band for the past 4 years, in different parts of the drumline. I also was in general band, and I play set in jazz band. I'd like to continue being in marching band up through college, hopefully it won't take up too much of my time hahaha.

so share stories, don't let this thread die dammit!

Proud alumnus of the Ball State University "Pride of Mid America" marching band. :bs: (<--how cool!! there's a ball state smiley ) Too bad I'm not a Ball State alumnus. I had a one year major in partying.

i was a band kid from 5th grade right up to high school graduation.

i loved my time in band. :)

I was a band geek in middle school and high school.

concert band and pit band.

Played the trumpet.

Quit halfway through senior year because I didnt want to play anymore.

Piano lessons started in the second grade for me. I played alto sax from 5th to 9th grades. Then I went over to bari sax for concert band the rest of high school. For marching band, I was the drum major. For jazz band, I was on piano.

I still play piano frequently but have given up the saxophone. BAND GEEKS ROCK! (!)

BAND GEEKS ROCK!

Indeed they do!!...some are even very goodlookin' ;)

Thats an impressive resume Martin6 ..| ...i wish i learned piano :(

was a band geek in 'elementary' school and then a 'choir boy' in middle school and a slacker attracted to band geeks in high school, heh....

Been playing the Flute since I was 7...

Was involved in Band (concert, pep, marching, jazz), choir (sang baritone my junior year and bass my senior), and orchestra (symphony and pit)

I was a student director for band and I was the drum major in marching band for 3 years, and I was a section leader in all of the other ensembles.

And then I decided to major in flute...

I think I got the whole band geek thing down :-)

hayull yes, band geeks DO rock!

and chorus counts as well, forgot to add that one hehe :P
