I'm pretty sure I want one. I went to my Cingular store today, and they have a wait list. I already have a Nokia 6682, it is not even a year old. I have to decide if I want the iPhone, or a new lens for my Nikon D40.... I have an 20G iPod, 1G Shuffle, and a 2.0GHz Macbook Pro; apple is pretty much a big part of my life :D

Decisions...

If I somehow get a job before then, then I'll certainly get one. The thought of having one makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Curse my consumerist ways!

No 3G=No sale for me

and it hasn't a release date here

SE w880i in black will probably be my next phone..|

I have been orgasming over it since I first heard actual credible rumours last spring!!! I am SO GETTING ONE!

I've recently been involved in the mobile phone industry.

From what I hear, there'll be a back-log on orders for quite some time. I believe the cingular stores are getting 5 each, if that.

LG will be releasing the KS20 in a bit of time. It's a revamp of the KE850, or 'The Prada Phone.' It, too, has a touch screen. And if I recall correctly, it is a little more robust and less verbose than the apple counterpart.

But I think some will buy the iphone just because it's and apple product. Just as I think some will not buy it just because it's an apple product.

I really want one but I need a new phone now so I will probably end up getting a Blackberry Pearl and go for the second gen iPhone.

I was anti-iPhone as soon as I heard Steve says, "Cingular (Now AT&T) exclusive...$499-$599." Later I watched a few videos on YouTube of the phone in action, and GOD. I want it. I want it bad. I'm not 100% sold on it though. I'm not happy about the $599, but I'll pay them for exceptional hardware/software. But if the monthly charges are anywhere over $60. I'm not getting it.

i still have an old flip phone...it has monophonic sounds, and ...um i can't transfer files or anything from it. i'm a pretty basic cell phone person so i'm sure i wont be getting an iPhone.

Well sure it does pretty cool things and stuff. But I still got a problem with iTunes so thats out of question for me. iNothing for me. Besides I wouldn't be comfortable carrying such an expensive thing around.

I'm waiting for the day when Mobile phone manufacturers advertise "It can also make phone calls"

Jobs did. Didn't you see the keynote? The phone capabilities of the iPhone were nearly one third of the presentation.

What I meant was when the fact it can make phone calls is a little aside at the bottom as in "By the way it can also make phone calls" I was alluding to the fact that when people talk about their phones they talk about all the funky things they can do but rarely mention the phone call capabilities. I was being Ironic, I'm just not very good at it:(

Like all emerging technologies, the iPhone will be chock full of bugs. The touch screen will be flaky. It'll scratch too easily. The software will be a bit clunky. The battery won't last as long as they say it will.

I'd absolutely love one, but I can wait 12 months for iPhone 2.

I'm gonna wait until it's on cell phone provider that I like and it has bigger harddrive space.

5 or 6 GB isn't enough.

I'm curious to see how the big players like Nokia react to the iPhone. I am seriously thinking about getting one around Christmas time.

seeing as how i need a new phone, and an mp3 player, and an organizer i'll be getting one soon as i can.

i love my sony w600i and all. but it can only do so much...

all the reviews ive heard from peopel are not that great. as much as i want one i think il wait till the iPhone v2. or whatever they call the next update to it. once they get a chance to work out the kinks. plus i love my Treo

How can there be a review of a product that hasn't been released yet? They can comment on the specs from the Apple website but I can imagine Apple keeping something up their sleeve. Like extra features.
