In a poll released Wednesday by Nanos Research obtained by The Globe and Mail, 81 percent of Canadian adults called for the border to remain closed for non-essential travel.

Just 14 percent of respondents said that they would be supportive of the border opening in areas where infection rates are low, possibly signaling a broad mistrust for the U.S.'s handling of the pandemic.

^ Do not, DO NOT, open your border Anywhere! Any opened door will see Thousands running from the burning building that is the current U.S.A. (maybe including us). Hopefully we'll be able to fix our disaster, or at least begin to, with the November elections. Even that is too far away. Just more incentive to stay as healthy as possible until I can mail in my absentee ballot.

If all goes as hoped, it could be another year from now until those of us left standing should be allowed to freely move about the planet once again.

Finally got a haircut today after four months (which is the longest I've ever gone). A few minutes into the haircut, my barber walked toward the front of me and started talking to me...and after a few seconds I realized that HE HAD TAKEN HIS MASK OFF. Talking about three feet directly in front of me. I'd damned well better HOPE LIKE HELL that he doesn't have anything going on.

My first trip to Europe was in the Summer of 1963. Since my birthday is in October, I was still 12. Dad was on an exchange program. Our first four weeks were spent living in the house of the Methodist minister we exchanged with. It was in a small seaside town northeast of Belfast. We were the only Americans, that we were aware of, around for that time. It was Awesome!

The following few weeks were spent touring the rest of Ireland, the rest of the UK, and several other countries on The Continent. I will never forget standing where JFK had recently given his "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, and looking at The Brandenburg Gate across "The Wall".

Along the way, we ran into a Lot more Americans. Even at that young age, I did my best to disassociate myself from most of them. I didn't want to be recognized as one of the uncouth, inconsiderate, blatantly brazen, Yanks.

Now we're even more dangerous.
