Wait, I forgot that, having settled in the middle of nowhere, there are zillions of resourceful people in the developed world that have no easy access to legumes, fish, fruit or any other sort of real food, and rely entirely on cattle raisers and meat processors.

I never thought of myself as a "redneck". Quite funny. I live in a suburban area, but I am a short drive to pastures and farmland as well as a major city. I am neither a farmer nor a rancher so I do depend on others in that regard. Guilty as charged. Am I concerned about shortages of food and other items? Yes, I see the evidence, or lack of, on the grocery store shelves. Am I panicked? No, not really (at least not yet haha). Do I buy into everything I see on the news? Of course not. I will say there have been a lot of good, reasoned responses on here since I was last online.

I'm a huge fan of fruits and vegetables, but I'm not ready to go vegan just yet.

Somebody mentioned no neighbors have come begging yet. I have had a neighbor come by asking me for any kind of work. I felt terrible for him.
