When I was in Atlanta before the pandemic, I visited the tiny apartment where Margaret Mitchell and her husband lived, and where she wrote "Gone with the Wind". The house in which the apartment is located has been turned into a museum primarily exhibiting materials relating to the writing, editing and publication of the novel. Fascinating.

Interesting to contemplate what Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King would make of the profound degeneration of what is presented as black musical culture from a few years before his assassination to today. Contemplate how elegant and CLASSY the Supremes and Temptations are! And how joyous their performances are! And then compare to Nicky Minaj et al and how TRASHY and dismal their act is!

Oh joy, another non-black speaking for a black revolutionary. It's possible (I won't pretend to speak for him) he'd be more focused on the socio-economic conditions black people were dumped into-- a point in history Americans conveniently glaze over when chopping down what they perceive to be black culture which is a debate in and of itself because mainstream media is controlled by white people meaning the artists you see and hear may be black but the people deciding who's seen and heard, who's winning the awards and getting sponsorship deals, are all white. It's not black culture, it's what profit-minded white people think black culture is. Nobody who knows enough about black America to write a paragraph would call Nicki Minaj the epicenter of our culture. Why not Marsha Ambrosius or Maya Angelou? Becuase the point in going "LOOK LOOK AT THE CULTURE" is to denigrate blackness. It's about as openly racist as it gets.

Anyway, he might be more disturbed by the racist gerrymanding and voter suppression that doesn't seem to bother the average American, and if he thinks the KKK was bad back then wait til he finds out they're STILL cops and judges and they can openly recruit and march and post their racist murder manifestos publicly online without being considered terrorists and then carry out those attacks because in America the only "terrorists" are black people protesting police brutality and burning a few trash cans. He'd most definitely have a heart attack when he sees the conditions some urban schools are in, children being taught by teachers who themselves barely understand the material.

So if anyone is horny at the idea of him waking up and reading black people the riot act, you might wanna consider drugs and raunchy psychedelic blues music was going on during the 60s, if he wanted to give lectures to his people he could've done it in his lifetime. He didn't, because he was focused on the bigger monsters in America: white supremacy, apathy, injustice, et cetera. He probably understood that racist white people use this as a diversion tactic.

This is why he began to lament promoting integration, he knew there was a subgroup of Americans who would never change, who would literally go to a(nother) civil war before they'll just listen to black people. Their racial resentment is a security blanket and a banner they wave with beaming pride. And there's a sharp callousness to it, it's not enough to dislike black people, they have to express it in loud and quiet ways as regularly as possible. Little if anything has changed since the civil rights era.
