Meet Robert McCabe, a Philadelphia area man who, until 25 hours ago, worked for the IRS:

One of the laid off IRS employees, Robert McCabe, told NBC10 he went into work on Thursday and had issues logging in. He and his coworker sat around and waited for instructions. He then received the layoff letter shortly before 11:30 a.m. McCabe said he had been a supporter of President Trump prior to the layoff.

“You know when he talks about government waste and all that, yes, I’m behind it,” McCabe said. “I believe there is a lot of stuff in the government that needs fixing. And that’s part of the reason why I actually wanted to work for the government, actually. To help change. Help change the things that are wrong in the world, you know? I thought that someone with his business acumen would have come in with a fine-tooth comb and actually found it instead of coming in with a wrecking ball and destroying people’s lives for no reason.”

The video is a pretty quick wrap-up of regret but the actual interesting part is the discussion about Virginia, whose Governor clearly hasn't thought through the impact on the state's economy as the brunt of mass firings will affect them disproportionately.

Virginia has their election this year and by the time it rolls around, the impact of lay-offs and firings will be felt in everything from consumer spending through state tax income.

Like a number of the other GQP'ers in power who clearly had no idea that the cuts would be felt in their states, Youngkin seems at a loss. Others like Grassley and Collins begging for carve-outs are pathetic and even Lisa Murkowski, asking for special exemptions (because a HUGE number of people in Alaskastan are federal employees, seems as though she never really thought about any of this before it actually took place.

As for the individuals who feel betrayed by the cut....hopefully they come out okay but fuck them if they don't. Each and every one of them was cheering for someone else to be hurt.

Notice how republicans are now all upset because the consequences of their vote are happening to them. They would be rejoicing if it were happening to the people they hate.
Also notice how Democrats have been upset all along because the consequences of their vote are happening to everyone and people, including Trump voters, are suffering.
Don't tell me the parties are the same.

I am really sorry and sad that everyone must go through this now.
But I do admit some satisfaction in being able to say, we told you so and you refused to listen. Suck it up. You should be happy. You are getting what you voted for.
