Update! ... You were on the right track seven2go because Karl Thomas and Jay Richards appeared in loads of movies, though not necessarily in the same scenes together. However, diligent searching revealed that they were both in a film called "Don't Hold Back" and in one of its scenes I spotted this guy with a decoration on his left ear lobe - I don't know what the correct name for it is.
