good news: if youre white and young and into asians, the odds are stacked in your favour. now, before everyone starts yelling at me: thats just my personal perception.

for me, the main difference between the icky, offensive kind of attention and the flattering kind of attention is this:

Actually the Inuit ARE Asian in origin - as are "the other Indians" (a/k/a "Native Americans") - except that they migrated from Asia to The Americas during the Ice Age, in prehistoric times. Of course we don't call them Asians, because these populations were here already when the Europeans "discovered Americans" (as I like to say) with Columbus, etc.

The Inuit (formerly a/k/a Eskimos now considered derogatory) are never called Native Americans, but they are. I assume the term doesn't apply generally because they're geographically very far removed from what we usually call N. A.'s//Indians such as the Sioux, Chippewa, Apache, etc. two thousand or more miles south of the Inuit. Even the Cree, Huron, Metis, etc. aren't called "Native Americans" because they're Canadian, but all of Canada is really America - part of NORTH AMERICA.

This doesn't mean that I'll start naming "Indians" as ASIANS anytime soon - I say what they are, as specifically as I possibly can. I'll say Sioux or Cree etc. if I know - or even Lakota Sioux if I know that - otherwise I may say native Americans, or first peoples, or aboriginal people, sometimes Indians (but only if in context, obvious or from the conversation). Saying Asian (though the heritage is prehistoric) only serves to confuse, and make the reference much less specific.

I don't mind being objectified when we're having casual sex, frankly, I don't really care what you think about me but in long run like dating someone, being objectified is a really bad thing. Of course the native Americans are called "Indians" because Columbus, or another of those earliest explorers, was so hopelessly lost that he thought he was in India.
