  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Why are deaths allowed to be shown on Youtube?

I saw a video where a man (unwisely) chose to use some sort of a glass jar as a makeshift dildo and it broke in his ass. So after it broke, instead of freaking out the way you'd think he would, he casually reaches down and slowly pulls the broken shards out as a puddle of blood starts to grow beneath him. It was like a holocaust in microcosm. Translation - The single most disturbing thing I've ever seen in my life.

You wanna know what the worst part of it all was? I think he might have done it on purpose. I also had an inkling of a thought that it might, somehow, have been a really good fake but it looked real enough to me.

 Jesus... now that's something I wouldn't wanna see and I have a pretty curious mind about sick and disturbing shit.

Censorship is a slippery slope. When you use "this offends me" as justification for having something pulled, it opens the door for "homosexuals offend me, pull the vids", "promoting homosexuality offends me, pull the vid." "Rap offends me, pull the vid."

I'm not COMPARING these things, I'm comparing people's varying levels of sensitivity.

Well, youtube seems to be awfully sensitive when it comes to two men kissing. It's viewers seem awfully sensitive too as the vids are constantly flagged. So, I guess beheadings are okay, but love is not. Yeah.

I'm surprised that youtube isn't more heavily regulated. The FCC manages to cut down on the things we view on T.V. (like Janet's nipple) but beheadings and suicide slip through on youtube. Hmmm...

I share your confusion. Really makes you wonder who's actually running that show.

That would be a parenting problem, wouldn't it?
Do you seriously think parents should and can always supervise their children? They need to let go from their offspring so it doesn't grow up paranoid. Plus, nerdy white brats can easily bypass security measures.

You can't blame the parents then if the child wants to be an asshole.
