Why are the media saying 'brokered convention' and 'no clear Republican candidate'?

I dont really want to see Obama or Romney in the white house, we need a true liberal in the white house, not Bush on crack like Obama has been.

The question now is what all the 'evangelical' leaders are thinking: do they maintain their integrity and denounce Romney as a heretic, sell their souls and support him because he's not Obama, back Santorum for a third party, or sit and moan about God punishing the nation?

sit and moan about God punishing the nation.

A couple of questions....

If Gingrich or Paul dropped out and endorsed another candidate, does all of his delegates automatically go over to that person?

Does this mean that behind the scenes, Romney and Santorum will currently be 'courting' or 'tempting' Gingrich and Paul with political promises?

Last time round both parties had to go through the process of choosing a candidate so there were two races to fill the airtime/colum inches.

This year there is just the Republicans and their collection of crass, uninformed, biggoted, multi-millionaire wingnuts vying for the chance to piss away millions of dollars getting thrashed in November by Obama. (Obviously this is just my opinion, but I think I'm close to target).

Given the state of the US economy and the world in general, it is astounding that these candidates are the best the Republicans can muster.

it would be such an admission of weakness that I can't imagine any campaign is trying to court the delegates of another... the only way I could see that happening would be with a VP promise.

What I mean is would there be behind-the-scenes low-level discussions for Gingrich or Paul do drop out and endorse Romney or Santorum, and in return they would be promised the inclusion of their policies and ideas and their active participation in national Presidential campaign?

The MESS that the Republican Party Primaries are in...

AND...

The MESS that the ACTUAL elections will be...

Are an ACCURATE REFLECTION of the United States...

We ARE a socially liberal and fiscally conservative country -- with NO PARTY reflecting OR embracing our TRUE ideals...

Romney could promise Gingrich the Department of Education and Paul the Treasury.

:D

For Santorum... Ambassador to Somalia.

This is exactly why Paul and the Ginge are sticking with it.

They hope to be able to force the nominee to make a deal in exchange for the support of their delegates.

At the moment, I can't figure out if it is Santorum or Romney who is using Gingrich to cockblock the other.
