I was talking to this one str8 girl from high school who never knew I was gay. She asked me.. "Nothing against gay people.. but if they don't have str8 sex and have children.. why are there so many of you?"

I thought this was a cute statement she was being honestly ignorant but I wasn't offended.

I couldn't respond I didnt know what to say. What should I have said?
 
God made heterosexuals to procreate and fill the world with faithful followers. But this ment that they had responsibilities and their life was filled with taking care of and providing for their offspring.

So he made homosexuals who, not having these responsibilities, could develope great artistic talents with which to magnify his name. ;)
 
Because we come from families, families like yours.
 
You could have told her that being gay may not be genetic...
 
If the gay gene is what you believe, tell her it's a recessive gene. Like the gene for red hair.

It's really the ultimate question, isn't it. Why do gays exist? They serve no procreational function (unless science makes some major.. err.. breakthroughs :eek:), and there's a lack of susbstantive evidence of any genetic irregularities... The only thing I can think of is that we're all descended from the Spartans! :croynan: After all, gay was the done thing in their military... maybe that explains why men in uniform look so hot. ;)
 
I don't know. I don't think anybody really knows. Is it like 5 in every 100 people are gay? That is a lot of gay people.....

Last time anyone came up with "official stats" (in the 90s whilst I was still at school), apparently 1/25 people in the UK were gay.

I think 25 out of every 100 or maybe 30 out of 100 are gay bi or lesbian.
 
it is cute and innocent what she said, I would tell her that gays are Gods way of making sure that the truly gifted are not encumbered by children
 
Because the same biological processes that predispose some individuals to develop a heterosexual orientation occasionally do the opposite. So you don't need homsexual parents to produce a homosexual child. All's you need is human DNA.
 
This is a great "hot topic" Brandon. I'm glad you started this thread.

My belief on it, (and it's just my belief), is that we are born gay because of the chemical balance in our bodies. I do not believe in a "gay gene" but I think there must be the right balances of certain chemicals and hormones in our bodies which cause us to be attracted to our own gender.

I do not believe that we learn to be gay. We can learn customs of our gay culture, but being attracted to each other is something that each of us has inside him.

Like I said before, that's just my opinion on the subject.....:D

You'll need:
1 trowell
1 acorn
1 bag of magic dust
1 piece of the rainbow
1 hair from Gok Wan
2 albums, 1 by Mika, 1 by Madonna
1 sing-a-long cassette of YMCA
1 portable stereo player
1 watering can full of the gayest alco-pop you can get your hands on

What you need to do:
Go out into the woods at night, and find a clearing with a fairy ring of mushrooms in it. Dig a small hole in the middle of the ring with the trowell, drop the acorn, the albums, Gok Wan's hair, and the piece of rainbow into it and cover it over. Water the covered area liberally with the alco-pop. Then place the YMCA cassette into the stereo player and turn it on. Whilst singing along to the music, skip and dance around inside the fairy ring, spreading the magic dust from the bag as you go. Make sure - AND THIS IS IMPORTANT - that you stop to do the chorus correctly, and face the covered spot every time you do it. Finish the song, tip out the last of the magic dust over the covered spot, pour what's left of the alco-pop over it, then retreat outside of the ring a safe distance away.

Wait for 15-20 minutes. You may hear strange noises coming from below the ground, for example WHAM music and what sounds like Big Gay Al; these are perfectly normal. Eventually the ground will explode in a vertical ray of rainbow light and a fountain of pink champagne (alco-pop to pink champagne; this shit's better than what Jesus could produce!) In the resultant crater you will find a new gay 18 year old wrapped in a big rainbow-coloured flag.

You're now a father; bring him up the right way... the proud way... the GAY way!
