I have been seeing more guys/men wear underwear with their board shorts, what's the purpose? Even if you are wearing white board shorts, is the "wet" underwear suppose to hide your dick, I don't get it, somebody help me.

First post, been lurking for a while, but had to respond here:

It's all about the support. A lot of board shorts don't have a lining and even if they do nothing provides the support of decent boxer briefs (I prefer under armour, every day)

Boxers are OK in day to day life but even with casual swimming or other sports it's nice to have support. And board shorts usually don't even have a lining so you gotta get the support somewhere.

I suspect Patty meant psychological support.

As for the other, the physical support is only

needing when doing 'HERNIA' type events.

Like bras, jocks, girls panties (tampon holder)

etc......they are just are superfluous and

not needed. If you doubt that statement, go

back and think about Adam and Eve...or answer

questions like what do the real Scotsmen wear

under their real kilts? Now, think breeding Acts.

and....well come on now.#-o

You need undies if you wear your boardies all day/to work like I do, because you probably shouldn't freeball at work.

You don't need undies if you're down at the beach or in the pool, because you don't need underwear if you're swimming. End of. On a related note, whose brilliant idea was the swimmer jock? Anyone who fell for that is just a sucker.

Hi ha BlackBeltNinja,

Beginning to think you didn't lust after me any more :(

Swimmer jocks like Swimmers alone were invented by the

Money Craver Whores who the offered big commissions to

those Marketing Whores who specialize in the public pulse

and keeping the publics head up the collective ASS. Think

Sun Screen, Kindles (and the ilk) Camera Cam/Twitter tweeter/

cell phone. EH?

(btw, there is an AP for that):grrr:

The idea of wearing wet board shorts gives me the creeps. All that wet material clinging to your body, yuk! I just don't understand board shorts.

I would rather have a Speedo. As Arecibo stated, they provide lots of support too.

This guy saYs he wears a speedo under his boardies:

Do you wear a speedo under board shorts?

Do you wear a speedo under your board shorts when at a public beach or pool. does anyone notice. what are the pros and cons to it?

I always wear a speedo under my shorts when I'm at the beach. I don't like to free-ball it, if you know what I mean. Also, you never know if your shorts will fall off. It also helps keep sand out.

^I have 5 Speedos.

4 little boxerbrief/trunk ones in black, black/grey/green, black/white/red and black/grey/white (that last one by Puma) and then one proper tiny 1" wide racing Speedo.

All for use at the gym, of course.

Decent old-skool boardies will be practically bone-dry within 5 mnutes of getting out the water if they're made of proper boardies fabric. The new Hurley Phantoms are a water-resistant fabric which are bone dry as soon as you exit the water.

I've got almost 20 different pairs of boardies in circulation, bought between 1998 and 2009, and I've never known them to stay wet for long.

And my boner and I with out the boardies or speedos or other swimmers

can be wet and dry and happy too..|.

I bet you do! :D What colour are they? I want an ivory pair like these that George Michael once wore:

Travis... no. Just no.

While I like most speedo's, his here look more like a diaper then swim-wear.

Not flattering! (*8*)

That IS strange. I have a pair of spandex Speedo swim trunks, so they provide all the support I need... And more. I get lots of glances.

Yeah, I expect you do get lots of looks. Why don't you post us a pic or two?;)

I don't have confidence enough to wear a speedo in public. I'm sure I'd get lots of laughs if I did.

As for support, some of us don't need much support. I could free ball, and nobody would know it but me. I could probably have a boner, and nobody would know it but me...:(

Why balvanie?
Is there a physiological reason?
Are you, perhaps, afraid of something?

Well, sure, I'm afraid of some things but not sure where that question is going....but I will clarify.

I suppose there's no physiological necessity. I just like the support compared to freeballing. You can get the same effect from speedos, of which I own only 1 pair, and have a lot more board shorts that don't provide support so that's why I like to combine boxer briefs (or briefs) with them. Casual swimming can easily turn into wave riding or wrestling etc.

I guess I just spend so much time in boxer briefs that the support is just desirable -- not a physiological necessity -- but if I'm going to wear any clothing at all I like to have some support!

^I agree with Travis. He looks great in a Speedo.

Even square-cut shorts are better than board shorts.

Those are 'speedo' type swimmers? Son of a bitch, I was getting rady to

call my stock broker and place a buy order for a few thousand shares of the

DEPEND/POISE company. Are you sure those aren't their new athletic line

of swimmers for the 'active' male?

Double damn, that would have been killer especially at the Country Clubs.

I suppose if I wanted to wear them in a place other than the beach, i'd wear a jockstrap if I really needed support.

But I freeball to work when the mood strikes, so, you know, not all that concerned about who's watching it swing.

I do it. I'm not sure why though, it's just something me and all the guys I know have always done. I never have sand in "weird" places like a lot of people say, maybe that's why.
