From a contemporary Social Science perspective, race is a social construction. When people refer to race, they generally are speaking of skin color/tone. This is a phenotype, which is an outward physical trait of a person. Other phenotypes are shape of the eyes and nose. Biologically, speaking, however, there is no true difference in races. For example, a heart surgeon doesn't have to learn different methods of valve replacement for different races.

Although I haven't studied it, I imagine penis size is just another phenotype. Therefore, there would be tremendous variation among guys of the same "race". I would also surmize that penis size is a very difficult thing to study. (I'm trying hard to avoid making puns!) The social sciences generally use self-disclosure of the people we study. I imagine that if any guy is going to lie in a survey or interview with a social scientist, it's going to be about dick size!

When I took my "Race & Ethnicity" class, we discussed Latinos at length. It is true that Latinos are not a racial or ethnic group. Instead, it relates to a socio-linguistic group. This means that a "Latino" can take on any appearance, including what we normally would categorize as white, black, African American, or Asian.

You can actually blame the US Government for causing the confusion. The term "latino/latina" was adopted (probably from the Spanish "Latinoamericano") in the late '90s to replace the term Hispanic. Hispanic was supposed to connect people by ancestory to Spain. Hispanic and Latino are not interchangable, however.
