Why do guys prefer not shaving down there?

If a guy deems self-maintenance unimportant when it comes in the form of taking a few seconds to glide a razor over his body, why should I believe that he doesn't feel the same way about showering, a considerably more arduous task? Or washing his hair? Or brushing his teeth?

And some guys (like me) just trim with clippers or scissors to partial length because we don't want to be covered in ingrown hairs. Shaving is completely inferior to trimming in every way. It takes longer to do, and it carries the (in some cases SEVERE) potential for ingrown hairs. The ONLY reason to ever shave body hair is if you prefer the look and feel of it.

The only time I think hairless looks kind of ok is if it's on a really buff guy. Otherwise, dudes just look like sick looking rats when they shave everything. I don't understand why there are guys who want guys to shave everywhere. Is it a psychological thing? If I go outside with my hair not combed and my clothes wrinkled, people would assume I placed no value on my appearance or hygiene. Well for some if you have wild unruly body hair with no attempts to make it look less unruly, then assumptions will be you don't place much value on appearance and hygiene. Not always case but do you get what I'm saying?

I'm hairy down there. The reason it takes long is because if I shave my pubes, I have to deal with my thigh hair and abdominal-area hair, or else it looks really funny. I have to get it just the right length to look like a gradual transition and not a stiff line, and if I mess up, I'd have to shave everywhere to make it all look the same length (which would be zero).

Also, I'm immune to nair it seems. It just burns my skin and doesn't take off any hair.

Wax causes ingrown hairs worse than shaving for me.

I can't speak for anyone else but if I tried to reject my feelings for men, I would never want to bottom, never want relationships, never want foreplay. I would just want to get my dick sucked and fuck a guy's hole. But I want the whole package. I want to love men and have them love me. And I would want women to do the same thing. Having a preference for no body hair is not much different than having a preference for smooth women. Only difference is society tells me that men should have body hair, which I personally disagree with for reasons I stated above.

I get that your response is the second biggest load of horseshit I've heard today. I've never shaved my body in my life. I shower twice a day, brush my teeth three times a day minimum and have never been accused of not caring about my apperance because I don't bother to wax or shave myself, nor has it ever been suggested that I am unhygenic because I have chest hair.

Not always the case. I said some people, not everybody, will assume. I did not say everybody or you with hair would have poor appearance or hygiene.

I just don't like long hair anywhere but on top of my head. It grosses me out. I don't shave anything but my face, pits, and asshole though. I just keep my ass, pubic area, and chest trimmed short.

Luckily my chest, arms, and legs have naturally short hair or it'd be a real pain.

As far as my mate goes, it's subjective. Some men look good with some hair on them and others look better bare. Either way, I would rather die than rim a hairy ass. I may take you with the hair, but if you want that done then you're the one who will have to compromise.

I think hair that is out of control looks bad. Notice how is underarm hair isn't out of control (naturally). If he had that around his dick, it would look good.

It's when hair grows out of your shaft and your ball hair is longer than your limp dick that everything just starts to look funny.

I think you should keep your hair at least the length of your leg hair to match. If you're leg hairless then I guess you could get away with shorter, but I would say completely trimmed over shaved in the pubic region.

I shave my balls and shaft and trim everything else.

I'm a young guy, 21, relatively inexperienced. I have come across guys with hairy asses and dicks before and it's really a turn off. Yet I come to this forum or any other forum and people always prefer guys to keep their body hair au natural.
