I never suggest anyone meet a BF or even friends at a gay bar
I don't agree, I've met loads of friends through gay bars, including someone who I'd consider to be my best friend sorta. Also met my first boyfriend at a gaybar.

Robert~Marlene that is a great post - I also think that if some total straight guy suddenly turned to a gay man (who had professed his love for him) and said "I change my mind, I'm gay now, and I was fooling you all along as a straight guy" that some of the attraction would fade away. it's like watching good stories on television - it's the sexual tension between characters that makes it so intriguing but as soon as they end up really exposing their love for each other, the magic is gone. Seriously, I think of it as a Muldahr-Scully syndrome.
Call me crazy if you will. It's just an idea and obviously something I have no personal experience with, but I think there's something to this excitement of that tension. (and it's why I've seen women want married men I think).
this from the guy with the "charmed" avatar? The reason im still single is because I ALWAYS fall for str8 guys.
I cannot stand campness or queeny guys.

Join a gay softball team or bowling league or motorcycle club (or something.. you get the idea) and THAT's where you'll meet gay friends who have something in common with you.
I think there are two kinds of 'falling for straight guys':
1) You find out someone's straight and fall for him.
2) You see/meet a guy you like and then find out he's straight.
The first will definitely set you up for heartbreak. The second one is more or less unavoidable. In that case, it all depends on how you deal with it. Do you still fall in love with him and try everything you can to get as close (physically) as possible, or do you accept the fact that it's never to be and move on?
