Hmmm... although everyone else is being sarcastic, I can see what OP is saying. I've had many encounters with fake profiles on dating sites, people claiming to be someone theyre not. Also people getting to know me for different intentions than just being friends or dating.

Truth is, if you've been hurt by the lies, you will feel resentment. When it happens more than once, you get bitter, unless you find a way to get past it, and also not be so naive for next time.

Ummm.....I don't think this is true..."most gay men" ?????????

Let me qualify here...I literally have known tens of thousands of gay men up close and personal (versus behind a screen) as I was a bartender in a gay bar for 20 years...full time...so I feel at least partially qualified to speak on the subject of gay men as a group...

...and I find gay men are actually a bit more honest in general than their straight counterparts.

Just my observation....

In the end, however, we are all individuals...period.

People lie. Not just gay men. But I understand where you're coming from.

If you live and are active in a primarily gay culture or circle, and mostly exposed to and deal with gay guys, then it could be to you that it IS "most gay men". But I don't think that's realistic, is it?

And when you say lie, how are you referring? Lying as in facts about themselves or telling stories on others or just lying about all things they do? Lying in an online ad or forum vs. lying to their employer about stealing office supplies or to the cops about the crime they committed, etc.?

In my life so far I've found that it's just human nature and people of all walks, lie, for MANY reasons.

I like to think that most people are honest really, and I think they are.
