Why do most girls and gay boys love 'Pink' so much?

^

Would I lose points if I said that what's in there is currently more tanned than pink?

^We saffers were always under the impression that purple was for the sexually frustrated.

I agree here, but I think that's my locality speaking. Pink was incredibly popular amongst men in my hometown and when folks from out of town questioned whether that was a "gay" color, the straights would always reply "I thought that was purple."

In the state of Hawaii the rainbow is practically the symbol of local identity and of Hawaii itself. It's how Hawaiians almost universally understand it. No one thinks someone with a rainbow sticker or a rainbow t-shirt in Hawaii is expressing their sexuality. That doesn't change the fact that the rainbow is very closely linked as a symbol of GLBT issues in the U.S. Nobody from the other 49 states will see someone with rainbow symbology on their belongings and assume it just means Hawaii--- unless they're Hawaiian.

I'm too lazy to google fuchsia or magenta...all I know is they are some type of red, pink, or purple. I just know the basic color names.

Have to say my favorite color is between blue and green.

(In before buzzer makes a comment about blue curacao.)

Azure curacao.

The only thing gay about pink in my opinion is the pink triangles that the Nazis made homosexuals wear in the camps.

Wait I thought gays love "rainbow" lol.

I don't either and I am an arts major !oops!

According to Joan Rivers straight men love pink because it reminds them of vagina!

I think pink is a pretty colour and most women and gay men love pretty things (whether we're rasied by society to love it or not). I think part of the hate towards it comes from the ingrained misogyny to hate anything seen feminine and self hating behavior among some gay men to loathe anything stereotypical of the culture.

Anyway, it has become a symbolic colour so much so that the leading LGBT online newspaper (when you type 'gay news' on Google, this is the first result) is titled Pink News.

I guess it is an okay color. I prefer neon green and purple but I have been known to use it in my art journaling. Some people love the color brown but I hate it. People like what they like, simple as that.

I love pink. I adore lavender. I love pastels in general.

I guess I'm a walking stereotype. Aw shucks.

umm you hate pink colour because of fear of other people might judge you for something.

Because I do. Has very little to do with me being gay.

There are plenty of colors guys hate and it has nothing whatsoever to do with fear of femininity.

Some guys hate turquoise. Some hate tangerine. Some hate brown. Some hate pine green. Some hate yellow or red.

Reducing color preference to homophobia is lame.

Have you ever visited sites like deviantART?

The fear of pink on those sites is hilarious. And, if you read the comments you might start to believe that pink is the he-man's kryptonite.

I think it's a rather ghastly color. Far too loud and bright. I prefer a nice green.

I like pink. Not the garish rich magenta pink, that's hideous -_- but I like milk-latex pink like this:
