Israel is the only place --in a cesspool of countries that has a democracy. And progressive views on a wide variety of important things including LGBT rights. There are plenty of liberals in the country that want to make peace with the PLO---and the area that was called Palestine is actually Jordan. The Old Testament book of Hosea is really amazing. Hosea, the prophet, is a picture of God and his wife, Gomer, is a picture of unfaithful Israel. Gomer refused to give up her harlotry, even after marrying Hosea, and God repeatedly had Hosea take her back and love her. People may become unfaithful, but God is always faithful

Christians fight other Christians, Muslims and Arabs fight and kill each other too, but you don't see Jews going to war with other Jews.

You're missing the point. God didn't forsake His people, they forsook Him. He was determined to love them and not give up on them, hence the redemption of those who would be redeemed.

Then, you would have to give up a cool holiday like Christmas for Hanukka. Then there's the Sabbath depending on how devout you are from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday you would have to give a lot up, Friday night is for most gay guys a rather active evening.

As for the hate, various reasons, humans hate those that are different. Some of the things that I mentioned above would make you different, like walking to synagogue on Friday evening.
I knew a boy that was in a boy's school with me, on his first day there when we all changes into our pajamas and had our evening devotional we would get down on our knees and recite the Lords Prayer, this boy sat still and stared straight ahead. He was confronted by staff in front of all of us and asked why he did not participate, he told them that he was a Jew.

The other boys acted quite upset and planned on kicking hiss ass, such a nice Christian attitude.

The list goes on, Christ killers, cheapskates, bankers with all of the money.
The one thing that I think that bugs folks the most; they are successful, they study, work hard and stick together.

I saw a lot of nepotism in the work place, not many (if any) Jews ran small machine shops. They were owned and ran mostly by wasps or red neck types.
When you heard that the bosses son was coming to work it was the kiss of death. He would set on his ass and watch, your work load was increased and your benefits were cut to make room for this lazy dummy.
