Why do some gay guys carry "bags"?

I met a few guys this weekend that all carried around "bags", one of them could pass as a "bag", but the other was a straight up white purse. I just can't comprehend how a guy can walk down the street with a purse... I'm very open minded, but this was just strange to me. What do you guys think?

It's where you keep your gay card and your copy of the gay agenda...duh.

I can't be bothered to carry stuff around with me; if it won't fit in my pocket, it stays at home.

LOL...I have a "man purse". Don't carry it all the time...but on days out it comes in
pretty handy. I don't keep make-up or anything of the sort in it. Camera, contact case, glasses, sun glasses, keys, eye drops. I like them but, yeah it gets commented on all the time. Screw it...my life comes with a lot of things and I don't have a "wife" to carry them in her purse for me.

Wow....that does seem a little high maintence for me....lol----most of that is just thrown about the car or in my gym bag.

I don't know why they carry the "man bags" when a laptop case or backpack attracts less attention...maybe that's the key...they want attention.

I ride a motorcycle to work and can't carry everything in my pockets, so I use a bag. Plus, I'm always afraid that my wallet and phone will slip out of my pocket while riding. For me, it makes practical sense when using the bike.........otherwise I don't use the bag.

Depends on where you live as to how "strange" it is. I would agree that a white stand-up purse may be a bit over the top, however, tasteful men's handbags are sold in most finer department stores in large cities and are usually in black or brown leathers. I see a lot of guys with men's handbags, including straight guys. If you can get passed the stigma of it, it makes a lot of sense considering what we all carry around these days (cell phones, wallets, keys, coins, etc...) that fit nicely in those bags. The operative word here is "handbags". For men, they really should be called something else. That word creates a stigma with a lot of people.

Where else would you put your make-up and Mydol?

For the times when a bag comes in handy, like traveling, flying, etc., a black leather backpack works for me! No questions asked!

you all must have missed my bag post oh well i'll jump right in i carry a messenger bag as needed

i don't deny anyone the right and opportunity to use a man purse.

love it ----I'll take two.

How about that body armor with the pointy nips and the bulging cod piece---they could very handy in some situations.

I carry a smallish messenger bag with all of my sketchbooks and pens. My co-worker has a bag, which might qualify as a purse, but he's British, not gay. :p
