  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Why do you (gay guys) prefer to hang out with girls rather than straight guys?

Because boys are stupid. Throw rocks at them.

Gay boys make me feel inadequate and uncomfortable. Straight boys make me anxious and uncomfortable. I get along with females just fine. ..|

*is a walking, talking stereotype*

You go first. Why is it hard to fathom that a gay man can befriend a woman? What part of the equation makes it so difficult to wrap your mind around it? I'm willing to assume you aren't implying that all gay men seek out friendships w/ women and only women.

Surely you realize that gender is a small factor in the grand scheme of things. You befriend people that you like, it's that simple.

honestly, most of my friends are straight guys that seem gay.

I hang out with people I like. Their gender/sexuality has nothing to do with it.

**throws a rock at Martin6

I'm guessing by the title of the thread you're straight.

I'm betting gay and he was just defining the "you." That would be interesting though. A poor ole straight boy who's feeling neglected by the gay men in the world. ;)

Day to day down the pub I'll be talking on the whole with straight guys.

Do any women hang at the pub? I've always pictured a pub as being more of a man cave.

Glad you're posting Herry! :gogirl:

Thanks ..|

Yes there's women as well but they tend to sit down whereas I always stand at the bar. The only woman I regularly chat with is the landlady at the end of some evenings when things have quietened down.

So niave...

I for one (closted), talk or I guess hang out too, with girls rather than "straight" guys because straight guys are more likely to be narrow minded and homophobic. For myself, I rather talk to girls because they are more comfortable with the topic of gays. I can be who I want to be around these type of girls, than straight guys; which I don't want to take a chance on.

I did not know by doing that we were being , Stereotyped, and labeled by you.

I hang with people I enjoy to be around with, it does not matter if they are M/F.

females are easier for me. straight guys always think im going to talk their girls away because i like to make them laugh and be the center of attention

Then he doesn't identify with the rest of us - you know the ones he's grouped with the generalisation the distances him "you gays" - which is a shame. I'm still happy to chat to him though. He seems like he wants friends.

The boy has been a member since 04, I don't think he's one of my brethren.

*Puts hand on hips*

See, I told ya so. He's not straight. For evidence I submit post #93 and post #1.

*Sticks tongue out and pulls Ravenstar's hair*

It's true that women are less likely to be homophobic but in general I find most straight men pretty dull. I pretty much only hang out with gay men and gay women and then straight girls. I wouldn't be opposed to hanging out with a straight guy, I've had straight guy friends before, but most of them are so wrapped up in maintaining their cool image that they end up acting like totally bro-ish douchebags.

I do find a lot of the time that hanging out with a lot of women just drains the hell out of me. Maybe it's just my friends...but anytime there four or more of us it's like a fight for the conversation spotlight.

Honestly, I don't really get along with women all that much; I'm a geeky guy who would prefer to have friends kinda like myself, straight or gay.

Girls treat their gay friends like their bitch, and I just can not put up with that.
