I don't know if the threads are the problem or if it is the posting content. Then again there is only a small core of regular posters.

I start threads elsewhere without a second thought ...but since I don't complain about the lack for threads here I don't see why it matters what I do or not. Frankly...bottom line....I don't think anyone here would be interested in my threads...so I don't post any.

Awww...thanks... (*8*) I didn't really change my mind though. I know I need to leave but the addict in me hangs out so I indulge it and will just let it die out on it's own.

What surprises me about starting a thread is that you never know what will happen.
At times I think, "this is stupid, but here goes..." and it turns out that I was right, it was indeed stupid.
Other times I think the same thoughts and roll the dice and start the thread and it takes off, that's always nice to see.
Other times, I am sure that I have a winner, only to see it sink like a lead balloon.
As of late I am afraid that I am dryer than a nun's pussy, just nothing but dust.

This isn't about the need for more and more threads or multiple new threads everyday on a single topic.

As someone who has created my fair share of threads over the years, I also see the problem.

Anders hit the nail on the head. Opening the HT page on JUB most days is just depressing when a couple of posters create thread after thread on the same religious/race based hatred under the guise of 'news'. Or pack HT with fatuous celeb threads that are purely designed to create flame wars until the inevitable bounce to the Celeb section where they belonged.

It actually would be better if JUB collapsed the number of boards so that HT just becomes a free-for-all.

Who really wants to waste time starting threads on most topics when there are fewer and fewer people here to have an actual discussion?

But if one or two posters here want to make thread after thread after thread on the same topic of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism and/or celebrities in HT and the existential threat they both pose, go for it. It doesn't preclude others here from pointing out the obvious as a 'contribution' to the topic at hand.

There is nothing to talk out because nothing is going to change. This is just a constant cycle on here where things settle just a little bit for a while, then shit starts hitting the fan and this is that time of the month.

You, Miz and Pat would respond with snide remarks or purposely be negative in the responses to these threads if they were created. So why would these specific people do that? Prime example is my Street Art thread being bumped 3 weeks after the last response with negative responses. A couple of the movie threads I started in the EF were met with negative responses by you and Miz. Sorry if I don't believe any of you were into the actual content of threads and instead were just acting childishly.

You shouldn't expect a good discussion on anything when you create threads like this because it is full of bullshit.
