Why Eveyone Hates Couples

I tend to root for couples. It gives me hope that loving relationships can/do exist. Well, I know they exist, but I have not seen it personally. :x I mostly see what Lex mentioned. People tell me that I'm just setting my standards too high, but honestly, if that's the norm, I'd rather be single and just get me another dog. lol

I never hated couples. But I do hate the feeling of being a 3rd wheel. I dislike it when my friends invite me to a night out, but then spend half the night smooching and hugging their BFs which makes me feel like I'm inconveniencing them with my presence.

Meh, sour grapes bitterness is unhealthy

^^^QFT^^^

Just an FYI...I am part of a happy couple...and neither one of us have ever celebrated Valentines Day.....we made an agreement when we first met.

I can't relate to the other part...I always LOVED when I was single and never once did I wish for a BF...oddly enough I have pretty much always had one....

I hate being a third wheel because everything gets awkward. Either me because I feel like a voyeur watching the couple getting any close and personal and I don't talk at all due to fear interfering them, or the couple because they want to do something but is hesitant due to my presence but too polite to swoosh me away. The sad thing? I have been a third wheel for too often - either I crash in without knowing my friend would be bringing his/her couple or one of them sacrifices their time just to take me in #-o

I really need to find a boyfriend :help:

But I LOVE Valentine! It's the time of the year where expensive flowers rarely seen in my place appear everywhere - that or lavish wedding parties  *wrong focus*

To be honest, doesn't really bother me too much, long as they don't go all gooey in front of me. I wouldn't know where to look and I would feel like I'm intruding. But besides that, I'm fine. :)

And I actually like Valentine's Day! Though I'm not in a relationship or anything. I just find that it's a nice day.

I just always start making gross slurpy noises around them if they go overboard. Better they feel awkward than me ^_^

In closing, I can say that while I've hated relationships during times in my life, I've never ever hated couples for loving each other. That's just wrong.

Thank you! Quoted for holy scripture.

By the way, an easy way to avoid being a third wheel is to make oneself a FIFTH wheel. Then both couples feel like they aren't really "alone enough" to get all coupley, and instead interact with everyone else.
