I personally find the difference between text speak and normal language, is similar to the difference between a digital clock and an analogue one. I have to translate text speak in the same way I have to translate a digital clock. Hence how digital watches have waned in popularity.

But I guess it is just what you are used to, I hate sending texts & it takes ages to abbreviate them to fit. It is however a courtesy to at least try and get it right although I would never point out mistakes unless it were someone making themselves out to be superior and making a mistake themselves.

Were I to try and correct someone, it would be almost inevitable that I would make a mistake, and therefore deserve to be hoisted by my own petard.
