Gay sex makes straight people feel very uncomfortable.Mostly straight men.

On IMDB,when a thread about a movie is rumored to have gay sex, straight men always says

Is there really gay sex in the movie?
How bad is it?
How long is it?
Are men kissing other men?
Do we see cocks?
I have nothing against gay men. But,most people doesnt want to see gay sex in movies.Keep your sexuality at home.
Gay men always have to throw their sexuality down straight people throat.
Dont watch this movie. Its all about gay agenda.
Dont compare lesbian sex to gay sex.Lesbian sex is hot.Gay sex is not.
I have gay friends. But,it doesnt mean i want to see gay sex in movies.

All these things are common on IMDB threads.

Its weird, because most gay men i know are able to watch Basic Instinct without the cringe factor. They knows that the movie have straight sex in it.But,they are not afraid or ashamed of it.They just watch the movie.

Hollywood really doesnt have lots of gay sex in mainstream movies.Im not taking about TLA low budget gay independent movies that are usualy overlooked by straight people.Im talking about big studio movies.Like Warner,Columbia,Paramount,ect...

Big studios in Hollywood just doesnt want to show more realistic gay sex in their movies. They should show gay sex in their movies. The only way to banalize gay sex is to show it.So,straight people would get used to it.

If gay men are able to watch movies with straight sex scenes, straight people should be able to watch gay sex scenes in movies.

Europeans are so much more open with gay sex in european movies.Theres lots of gay sex in european movies. The scenes often looks like gay porn. They are that open.

Is men having sex with men in movies that shameful and hard to watch?

Hollywood's only motivation is to make money. They do that by making movies that appeal to the masses... straight people.

If the world was 90% gay and 10% straight it'd be the other way around.

100% straight people are a minority.Just like gay men. Most people are bi.Most people have a potential to change team.Only the stigma can stop them of doing so.

The Kinsey scale is very clear. Most people are between 1 and 5 on the Kinsey scale. Those who are between 1 and 5 on the Kinsey scale are bi with different degrees of bisexuality.

If Hollywood would really want to please the majority, then they would please bi people. So,more gay sex in movies.

Hollywood play too safe.I understand that USA is conservative. But,it doesnt mean they have to stay that way. They can change.

The gay sex scene in Brockback Mountain is pathetic. The scene was clearly made for straight people to be able to stand it.You dont see any passion between the 2 men having sex. They have no chemistry at all and you barely seen anything. That scene is also short. This is what is wrong with Hollywood. They are afraid to show the real thing.Gay sex.

I think there are several factors that cause "straight" men to complain about gay sex in movies.

1. The fear that they may aroused, or awaken gay feelings.
2. It's what's expected from them. In other words, they learn that in order to be a true "straight" male, they must show contempt and disgust for gay sex.
3. Belief that being gay is wrong or a sin.
Of course there are many other reasons...

As a general rule, one downside to America in general is our societal holier-than-thou puritanical prudish attitude toward sex in general. And then, when you insert a male-on-male dynamic into that, it just exacerbates the Puritanism and prudishness, which manifests itself as outright homophobia. Our basic attitude towards sex is kinda like the Wizard from The Wizard Of Oz - "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" Meanwhile, WE ARE the man behind the curtain.

I've forgotten where, but somewhere on the internet, I once saw this, I believe, an engagement announcement - it was this gay couple. Both guys were the big, gruff bodybuilder types - muscles, stocky-built, tattoos, and basically the kind of tough-guy archetypes you would never think of actually crossing/fucking with/giving shit to if you ever met them in real life, as both guys looked like they could mop the floor with an average-sized guy in a fight. I remember seeing pictures of one guy putting the ring on his now-fiancé, and then they kissed. It was absolutely beautiful.

Cue this homophobic asshole who posted a comment to the effect of "Big bruiser guys like you two are supposed to be pointing guns at each other, not kissing! I don't want any gay people taking up my oxygen...(blah-blah-blah)" /facepalm... :bs:

But it's that homophobic, sex-phobic, heteronormative narrative that still permeates most of America and certainly American media/movies. And you can pretty much thank the Christian right and groups like NOM and One Million Moms for keeping this fear, prejudice, and hatred (masquerading as protecting children and standing up for values/"what's right"/etc.) alive.

Not being a heterosexual I cannot speak to a straight man's response to gay-centric films....as a gay man I will say, that I do not need more explicit scenes gay, or straight in cinematic portrayals of romantic relationships......if I need to watch explicit gay, or straight sex scenes I can choose from hundreds of porn sites on the Internet...including this site...to satisfy any perceived need to get my "rocks off," or visit a pornographic cinema where the voyeur can indulge their fantasies without the restraints imposed in Hollywood productions.

And don't be flinging Kinsey out as some kind of Moses with truth about gays. His work was seminal, but seminally flawed, pun intended. He engaged in sex with his subjects. His objectivity was almost nonexistent. He wasn't researching as much as he was advocating. It doesn't mean none of his conclusions were valid, but they weren't what they were purported to be.

Noteworthy................

But still, more females across the planet are getting sodomised than men.

I assume that you're able to provide us with credible evidence supporting your assertion?

As if arse fucking a female proves something of worth beyond, an orgasm for the man.

But seriously, one believes it fairly easy to prove low incidence of anal penetration in lesbian couples.

Rather like our OPs expertise on Kinsey's conclusions, it is always worthwhile inviting our resident experts to support their assertions with credible evidence....the Lesbian angle, or approach is beyond my experience:D therefore, am unable to address this particular matter.

Kinsey, Deja and I, nor anyone else has any statistics

 Worth? Is sodomising a male different from sodomising female, I don't know?

I'm sure there is an expert here willing to offer us the benefit of their experiences.....not that it matters to me.

Thanks to Merriam Webster, I learned a new word today...Freudlings.

God is this site becoming tumblr? I swear, the OP is using basically the same exact rhetoric that the fucking "Die Cis Scum" people use on that site.

"It's not the alienness of the homoeritic that sets mens' nerves on edge, it is it's very familiarity."

str guys are afraid their dick will wink watching a sex scene---and while most don't want to see kissing---they are interested in seeing the sex acts.

Actually I don't mind straight men not enjoying gay sex (in movies or anywhere else).
I mean, do they really have to have it ALL?
They can dislike me for what I am/do, but at least *I* know they'll never experience the great joy of the male beauty and sex.
It makes their loss so much bigger. A most satisfying thought.

At Pat: " Worth? Is sodomising a male different from sodomising female, I don't know?"
Having done both I can say that for a gay man as I am it was much hotter to do the butt fuck on a guy, also one has the option of the wonderful "reach around", plus... when done he can fuck my brains out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no comparison.

I'm sure there is an expert here willing to offer us the benefit of their experiences.....

Only one so far, Kallipolis.

None of the so-called bisexuals have offered us their memories of sodomising women— perhaps they have blocked it from their memory?
