Lol. Yeah, I don't have any virus or spyware software on my computer though I'm also familiar with safe habbits, my system registry and all the other usual stuff you'd wanna look after. I also don't have anything on my computer important enough that I'd care if I was hacked. Hack my system and you'll get a pretty nice porn collection (if you like twinks and don't mind mostly photos) and a damn awesome MP3 collection.

For most people, it's a good idea to have a decent AV app but since apps like AVG and Norton seem to slow the computer down as much as a virus itself, I recommend you run the app without the realtime protection and simply make sure you exercise competent habits.

Microsoft has their app called Security Essentials. I actually just mentioned it in another thread, I like it alot because it's pretty lightweight.

LOL! Thanks for sharing. This is so true. And even when you have the subscription or key-gen/cracked, the program will still harass ahead of time to upgrade or register again.

LOLZ! Love that little comic strip. McAfee does that via email that I know of. Even though I haven't used it in like...ever...it would send me emails letting me know that it was gonna expire in 3 months, 1 month, 20 days, 10 days, 5 days, 1 day...and then inform me that I am not protected...even though I AM with another program.

I hope your kidding about supposedly not having protection though...get Avast! Free at least.

I recommend AVG. And I am not kidding. I don't have a virus scanner since 1999.

hu? idk .. i never reformated for a looong time. i re-installed winxp about once a year. but not a single time due to a virus.

and no, i don't need any website or whatever as i don't need any virus scanner. as I said I wouldn't recommend it, and I do recommend other people a virus canner. but I know what I am doing and I know what my machine is doing, and it's virus free.

AVG has been shit for a while. Avast is really good, is completely free (although there is a paid version if you want but if you're gonna pay go with NOD32), and doesn't have trial pop-ups. I tried Avira once and it had a very annoying pop-up spam thing trying to get me to upgrade to the paid version and I said screw that. And as always, NEVER INSTALL NORTON.

I've heard good things about Avast (which I use). Computer folks I trust give the same advice about Norton (never install). I think the current free version of Avast includes spyware/adware blocking, too.

LOL <3 If there is a "like" button, I will click it. XD

Yeah, I have never had a problem with virus. Although I do use AVGfree (only program), and it didn't bug me like that, although there was this one time it asks me to upgrade. =/ It went away after "X" so it's all good. :D I think it depends a lot on the user. Even though I put those full strength spyware/antivirus programs on my uncle's computer but it still had virus. sigh~ =[
